Um, so we have that ever lengthy thread on classic Y&R articles and discussion, I was wondering if we could do one for B&B? I mean the whole show is a hot mess and has been well at least since 2007/2008 and unwatchable but I'd like to think back to when I loved the show 1991ish-2006. A lot of stories liked and/or remember well have now been long forgotten like Ivana's murder and the mystery around it, Macy vs. Karen, Connor(someone mentioned him recently!) Dylan and Michael, CJ/Becky, Sly, Grant. Hell Macy was my favorite character right after Sally of course.

The official channel has uploaded but the clip is still not live... the first episode of season 10... and they are starting with episode that is from September 1996. I don't think this is the start of season 10. Strange.

By that point they were probably starting to treat seasons that fell in line with the annual beginnings of shows that premiere their new seasons in Sept/Oct?

eg they are advertising Season 36 as starting September 26 2022

They didn't start the "September seasons" until the 2010s... Season 10 originally started on Monday March 24, 1997...

I have now reached November 1993: Catalina Island...

Boy, this show was so rewarding to watch. Brooke/Ridge/Taylor is anything but fresh because - well - we get the same or less cleverly structured drivel till this very day!? BUT: everything else is extremely fascinating to watch.

Cue: the Y&R crossover storyline of Lauren & Sheila.

#1666: While intended for Sheila to have her comeuppance, it is also Lauren - one of the biggest soap b*tches of the 80s and 90s - who gets a dose of her own medicine. I won't reveal any specifics because some of you have not reached this episode yet, but this is just soooooo good.

BTW: I think someone on this board mentioned it before. In the previous episode Sheila gave Eric a handjob. Like for real (sort of, without getting to graphic). I don't think this was EVER done in soaps before and definitely not since.

Yep, episode 1665. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Kimberlin was very thorough with her hand motions lol. So good!

Thanks, wasn't aware...just speculating why they've perhaps started with September for Season 10.

Ok, I just finished 1571... I am in shock that Brooke successfully claiming the Belief patent comes down to Ridge accidentally grabbing the unsigned copy of the contract and leaving Brooke with the signed version...

What a dope! What a dingbat! Ridge is a failure as a businessman.

Stephanie is not far behind Ridge. Her ineptness in failing to double-check the contract is one of her all-time biggest blunders.

Yep and yep. Brings me to my other post from today: such developments simply make up for rewarding material for viewers. It was just delicicious to watch how both of them are responsible for their downfall.

I agree - watching these classic B&B episodes I am surprised to realize that Ridge's love life is actually one of the *least* interesting storylines in my mind (back in the day Bridge vs Tridge was always the major frontburner story and one that I was following with a lot of interest). Maybe it's knowing that 30 years on he still won't have made up his mind that kills the romance for me.

On the other hand, my appreciation for Stephanie, Sheila and the Spectra gang just keeps growing when watching these episodes the second (or third) time around. There are just so many subtleties and nuances in their scenes that completely passed me by the first time.

Bridge vs Tridge may be very soapy, but subtle they are not.

Nope. Check these much later news reports.

Judging by these in 2013 CBS then switched to September seasons as these seem to be the last mentions of the classic season format.

Hahaha that was me. And I still can't believe they could get away with something like that in 1993, but not in 2022

In the 1990s B&B really pushed the envelope moreso than Y&R when it came to love scenes. Some of them looked like they belonged in the type of movies that aired on cable during the wee hours.

I finally reached 1573 and Brooke's glorious line: "Here's to Taylor... and here's to you... and here's to all you frickin people!!"

So great. It sounds like something would say when they were really upset.

Why is Thorne totally absent from the Belief story? He's not currently involved in the Macy story, so we're just not seeing him on-screen at all.
