I loved the Stefan-Laura-Bobbie-Luke-Nikolas story on GH -- it was the last time I was excited about anything on GH. I even liked the introduction of Katherine into the story, which seemed to send many viewers around the bend.

Double EW!

Any story that undoes one of daytime's landmark, trailblazing storylines is just trash IMO.

I agree with both of these! I too enjoyed the first 6 months of Kendall/Ryan/Greenlee and Babe & Krystal. And on ATWT, while it took me some time to warm to Elena Goode and Jade, I eventually did and enjoyed her very much. What a missed opportunity!

Here's some of mine:

AMC- Bianca's rape/Michael Cambias murder mystery- I LOVED it and thought the whole thing was extremely well done.

Edmund's character assasination and death

ATWT- The Gwen/Jenn Baby Switch- I thought that whole storyline was so well crafted and executed. People said they were copying AMC but the switch on ATWT was FAR BETTER.

Iris's Introduction/History with Carly

"NutMeg"- LOVED IT!

Liberty's cancer/Dusty/Janet/Jack/Carly quad- Even though it was frustrating at times, I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

B&B- Necklace-Gate

DAYS- SSK and the Big Reveal- IMO, there wasn't a re-write- it was said from the beginning of that storyline that there was going to be a HUGE TWIST in May and boy did we get it! Melaswen, on the other hand....

Brady, Vivian and The Sarcophogas

Bonnie/Mickey's Love Affair- LOVED Julie's relationship with Bonnie! SSH & Judi Evans just shined together

Melissa/Jack/Jennifer/Emilio quad

Roman & Diana

PAS- Transgender Vincent- I thought the whole thing was clever and though it was downright revolting at times, at least it was something original and interesting

Totally agree. They should have just brought Josh on as a Kane cousin or maybe someone from Mona's side of the family. I loved his various schemes against Erica to try to get the spotlight on him at New Beginnings, and I wish they'd have continued with that sort of love/hate relationship.

GH - The 2001 panic room storyline with Ric/Carly. I know it was widely panned, but i loved it. It brought two of my favorite actors on the show (at that time) together. Rick Hearst and Tamara Braun. I kept waiting and waiting to see if Carly would escape. And the relationship between Carly/Ric was so interesting at that time. When she hit him over the head and ran, but he caught her before she escaped? Butterflies in my stomach. When he chained her to the wall? Oh LAWD. And everytime Liz got closer to finding Carly, I was on the floor praying. So when she finally found that button, pushed, it and Carly ran out? But then Liz fainted before she could help Carly? I nearly shat myself.

AMC: The Baby Switch Storyline.

I don't know why so many people hated the storyline but I thought it was well written, had DRAMA, suspense and twist and turns.

Satin Slayer - Besides of the killing of Dixie I thought it was good.

I didn't HATE it per se (I thought the beginning was great) but they made a couple of missteps and dragged it out too long. The critical error they made was having Babe find out the truth so soon. It would have made for much more drama and better storytelling to keep her in the dark like Bianca was. Krystal should have been the only one to know the truth.

It didn't help matters when ATWT did a baby switch in 2005 and that story kicked the crap out of the AMC version. Frankly, so did DAYS with the Sydney/Grace switch (I wasn't a fan of the other one with JT/Zach)

I wasn't aware people thought it was a bad. I thought it was one of the rare instances of TIIC having a solid beginning, middle and end.

I secretly wish (or maybe not so secretly) that they had truly built up a Carly/Iris rivalry. Even though it was a complete rewrite, it would have added a lot of dimension and insight into Carly's psyche. And at the time, Carly could have used a new adversary in town...she'd made friends of Rose and Em, Babs was simply insane, and Rosanna was her sister and in a coma. It would have bonded Carly and Gwen. Instead, TIIC took the simple way out and made Iris just a step above Elmer Fudd.

Y'lost me on this one dude. Those whiny Ciccone bitches ruined everything they touched. IMO.

    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
    • In an interesting turn of irony, when Somerset came onto the airwaves in 1970... it ran against Dark Shadows and beat it in the ratings fairly quickly.  Then when Edge of Night moves to ABC in December 1975 and put against Somerset, the slow ratings rise that Somerset was allegedly having in late 1975 is derailed. From reading the write ups of the final year, the show dropped the May/December romance.. which viewers enjoyed and was getting the show some good press... the original cast member was sidelined due to medical issues, and the show featured pure crime stories without any balance. I think the crime focus was an attempt to compete with EON.  However, people that were into crime stories/mysteries weren't going to tune into Somerset for their fix.. not when Edge of Night was known for that.. and that show was running on a high quality wise when the network switch occurred.

    • Erwin Nicholson's last episode as SFT ep was 11/21. Whitesell started 11/22/85. Erwin was on board from March 8, 1985 so less than 9 months. Whitesell lasts six months (approximately) before P&G moved him to AW for two years where he primarily worked with DePriest. Whitesell was replaced on Search by no daytime experience David Lawrence who closed out the show's last six months.

    • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.
    • I usually don't want Tide placement in the middle of an intense sad scene, but this is an interesting point
