Members OLTL_fan
No wonder why they let Guza go. Glad OLTL went up. I thought last week was pretty good minus the Wes mess. What happened on DAYS last week? Thats quite a gain after weeks of being so low.
Members JONNYSBRO
So why the hell is OLTL getting cancelled when it keeps soaring up? Also we forgot to add it was number 1 with girls 12-17 lol. OLTL IMO has showed not just a one week spike but its ratings keep increasing that is deserves a new home on NBC. DAYS/OLTL would be an awesome combo for NBC. We should be emailing these ratings week in and week out, its our only arugment for OLTL staying on the air. If OLTL goes off the air, at least the show is going out on top. Whoever thought OLTL would consistently be ABC's number one rated soap considering it never got the love GH/AMC got. OLTL is rocking it and isn't everyone glad OLTL is going it in best shape of any cancelled show. GOING OUT ON TOP.

Members DRW50
I think they wanted rid of OLTL no matter what. They may also just say the show is still down on where it was a year ago.
Members MichaelGL
My reaction to OLTL being the number one watched ABC soap.... Last week was comedic gold for OLTL, even if the material wasn't meant to be funny.
Members Kimmiemae
I'm glad Days bounced back a little this week. I hope the trend continues. Word! I wish NBC would pick up OLTL from ABC..
Members marceline
Because Disney wants out of the soap business! They've wanted out of the soap business all the way back to the Aisha Tyler pilot. That has been the plan for years. None of these shows were going to be saved. It was never a matter of if but when. They don't want to make this product anymore. They are closing down the soap "factory." What part of this is still unclear?
Members EastMA2
This all just means that GH's fate is cemented. OLTL at 2.5 mill is still is dismal number.
Members Cheap21
BC ABC wants out of the soap business. Its as simple as that
Members Dale
LOL! Has ABC put out any ratings press releases since OLTL overtook GH?
Members Soapsuds
GH is dead!! Just waiting for the cancellation announcement.
Members Carolyn1980
Except they have nothing to replace it with right now. Even if Katie Couric lands at ABC (which is apparently iffy now), her show wouldn't be ready until next fall (Sept. 2012). Brian Frons definitely has egg on his face, now, though. OLTL costs less money, and is poised to be able to charge the same or more than GH does for advertising based on these May Sweeps ratings so far. And the affiliates, already losing Oprah at many ABC affiliates, are likely to be pissed to see 2/3 soaps gone and the last one fading fast. If The Chew is an instant bomb...look for Frons to be out by October.
Members Llantano Incorporated
Amen Monty. Amen. I am so proud of OLTL. Yeah its a minor and hollow victory, but what a way to go.
Members DRW50
Katie's show will also flop, and will probably cost more money than the soaps. I don't get why they are even considering taking her on. None of the decisions from ABC in recent years have made financial sense. Frons should have been out long ago. My guess is that if Guza went it was nothing to do with Frons and is probably a sign that Frons' days are numbered no matter what.
Members JaneAusten
ABC can replace GH with a remake of Jokers Wild with CamMat hosting and a revised version of Match Game with soap actors and Rebecca Buddig as host Cheap and quick to develop and keeps Frons faves employed
