  • I watched OLTL religiously from 1968 to 1983. I find it amusing (well, baffling, really) that complaints about the writing would arise "en masse" about Gordon Russell. From 1968-72, with Agnes Nixon a

This is my thought too. In that 1976 dissertation that was archived online about how a soap is written which covers OLTL at the time (and includes a script) either Sam Hall or Gordon Russell actually

I thought I didn't have my copy of the 1976 dissertation on OLTL and how it is written but I found some of the excerpts (this is badly copied from an old photo copy so all errors are due to copy and p

Thanks to that damn Ron Carlivati, though, Lee Halpern's "death" didn't quite take.

IIRC, didn't the shooting occur during the '88 WGA strike?

I never understood why they killed Lee off back then.  I thought she was a great character.   I know it was said that her resurrection was an accident because they realized Janet Zarish had been on the show in the 80's (which I'm not sure if that's true because I think Frank V. was working on the show at the time) and then decided to make nurse Janet be Lee, but then why get rid of her again so quickly?  They could've brought Mari Lynn back and done a whole story with them.  That was a wasted opportunity.

I'm rereading Llanview in the Afternoon. I really wish Jeff Giles would expand and update it. I think enough time has passed since the show ended that more people would talk.

I have to laugh at Ivana Trump having zero interaction with anyone bar a Santa while Megan repeatedly tells us how beautiful and intelligent she is.

Their throwing Megan into all these relationships and stories right before she died always confuses me.

Me too.  I miss Ina's Boarding House -- Ina, Karen, Katrina, Marcello, Ed, etc. and their interactions. The  Buchanon men along with Mimi, Lucinda, Chuck and Rafe. Jenny, Brad, Vicky, Dorian, Marco, Edwina, Herb, Pat, and Nicole Bonnard aka Olympia, Larry,Peter and Melinda. What great time to be on OLTL!
