Members wingwalker
Someone needs to dig into this. Maybe those NBC and Sony rumors were true? That makes me angry if someone wants the shows and ABC won't give them up.
Members Ann_SS
Really? What are the networks making these offers for AMC and OLTL? Come on name names since this is so very true.
Members Eric83
I hope Errol dishes on this now that it's out.
Members Carolyn1980
Nellie Andreeva at Deadline did say NBC had expressed interest in OLTL as a companion for DAYS. My bet is ABC would put an exorbitant price on any such overture that it would be economically unfeasible for anyone to buy it (or AMC, either). Members Cheap21
I dont see either CBS or NBC wanting them. Maybe its something like DirectTV, kinda like they did with Passions. OR a cable network like Oxygen, or Lifetime? I could see retooling one of the soaps to a 2-3 episode/week show with a new format, having mild success on an outlet like that
Members RomeAt50
Passions got cancelled again after a year on Direct tv so I don't see it being them. Assuming this is true. I have a hard time believing any of the cable networks would be interested in daytime soaps.
Members Scotty
Oh Good Lord, no wonder people think soap fans are nuts.... http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knQ636hF93o SOS or be Sue, Daytime viewers has been discriminated, been abuse mentally & emotionally. At the protest in NYC we will have a petition for ABC and Disney victims can state how that abuse have affected their life and health. 1st step to start a class action law sue against ABC and Disney is a hard copy petition. We advising all the prostests in all state to the same. http://www.facebook.com/#!/EntertainmentTonight/posts/10150277486671180

Members ER Tosh
Maybe some company's just wanted the rights to the show and were planing some kind of revamped version of the show down the line (ie not a five days a week version).
Members marceline
What protest in NYC? How many more times do these people have to humiliate themselves?

Members JNewt
I had a weird feeling that somebody was interested in picking up these soaps and I knew ABC was going to deny them. The only thing now is we've got to find out which networks were actually interested and I'm sure somebody will be able to dig that up later this week. It's important to know who was interested that way the fans can show them their support and maybe lead them to creating new soaps with a new format or something to keep the genre alive. Members JaneAusten
I think there needs to be more spilled than someone is interested. It could be like GL where parties are interesting in buying chararacters and the intellectual property for repackaging using the same name and P&G wasn't interested in selling those or it could be Univision who is I think looking to expand and develop a Novella network and may be looking at some established properties for that. Members difficultdiva
Interesting timing about this so-called "interest" in AMC and OLTL being leaked by sources 24 hours before this year's Daytime Emmy awards.
