But see, IMO, Frons deserves all the sh!t he's getting and more. Not for cancelling the shows but for getting them to the point of cancellation, for tearing them apart piece by piece for the last nine years, for generally pissing on everything that made them different/special/interesting. Not to mention, he deserves it allll for forcing AMC to wrap in not much more than a quarter of a year. If hating that fat f!ck is crazy, then lock my ass up. I refuse, refuse, to give his stupid ass a pass.

Okay, all of the continued outraged fan-fallout from the cancellation news is getting to the point that some folks aren't being objective at all. Oprah, all on her OWN can not save the dwindling soap genre in its current state. At this point, I don't think anybody can, including that imaginary and elusive often thought of billionaire who just also happens to love soap operas.

I know that emotions are high and feelings from some of the fans (and some of the performers in this genre) are bruised, but I just don't see the purpose of pointing fingers and getting angry at folks (OPRAH) who have never been in the positions of power to fix how and why the soap genre is going down the tubes.

Nothing new:

On paper it makes perfect sense: Soon-to-be-unemployed All My Children icon Susan Lucci takes her super-soap act to primetime on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. There’s just one problem: It’s not true.

A source close to Housewives tells TVLine that “there’s no truth at all” to a report in New York Post‘s Page Six column that claims the Emmy winner will join the cast next season, adding that the idea has not even been discussed.

Of course, that’s not to say it couldn’t happen. If ABC at some point decides to transplant Lucci from Pine Valley to Wisteria Lane, they should do it right and have her play Erica Kane. Think of the possibilities — and then share ‘em in the comments!

I agree and know that some of the actors on these shows (past and present) are being VERY vocal about the shows cancellations. I think it's big when Hoover has decided to pull adds and other big name companies are considering pulling ad space and time away from ABC due to this decision. I just hope this isn't one of these things where Frons or ABC announces in May or June..."well we changed our minds and the shows have been saved."

While I want AMC and OLTL to stay on the air, the only way I feel they will survive would be go to to either CBS or NBC. While GL and ATWT were cancelled they were produced by Proctor and Gamble. If CBS/Sony or NBC/Sony were to purchase them, I could see them having a chance of survival in daytime. Besides you can't tell me that someone at either of (if not both) of these networks, would like to say an F'u to ABC and Brian Frons, especially if both shows were successful after acquisition.

See this all you rabid irrational soap fans shouldn't mess with Oprah.

And the craziness continues... Lunatic.

This is exactly what I am talking about ... the lack of perspective, the vitriol and frenzy is pure craziness. Who hates someone over the cancellation of tv show? I know that there is no reasoning with you, but seriously, you and others need to get a damn grip.
