Maybe just because they seem dead, they always come back to life? Like soap characters? Making fun of soap storylines... or that the soaps aren't really dead and they'll show up somewhere else? :D Don't get John or Marsha though - random names???

I'm still very curious about this Paula Deen episode! She made an obvious plug for The Chew, yet news only broke last Thursday!!! How far in advance does Paula Deen tape? Obviously the hosts of The Chew knew about their new job before the casts of AMC and OLTL were told the news last week, but how long? I don't like that Paula knew the news and couldn't say anything official on her show, but still decided to throw it in there with her obvious "girl, I need a CHEW" - emphasis on CHEW - used in the most odd way if truly a coincidence (which I don't think is). HMMM

Errol do you think they'd uncancel the soaps if they lose more advertisers? It still seems a long shot. Besides who's to say Frons wouldn't decimate these shows completely out of revenge?

I dunno, Paula Deen says some odd stuff at times and that was probably pre-taped awhile ago

It definitely implies some sponsors are just as skeptical as the fans are about the financial prosperity of the "innovative" shows coming down the pike to replace the soaps..... isolated incident, or will it cause a chain reaction?

I don't think so... If you could see how she said it - it was like she was going to say something, but changed it to CHEW as camera zoomed in bc she thought she could get a plug in as she elbows Carla. Plus, as we've all said before, who uses the word 'chew' when you really want a bite? Chew is so weird to say in that context.

Anyway - just interesting! Looks like they are prepping Carla for her big gig by getting in front of the camera on these other little food shows. She doesn't have any hosting experience at all.

If SEARCH FOR TOMORROW could get on the air with branches tied to music stands to suggest trees, windows suspended from the rafters to suggest walls, and still become number-one, anything is possible.

    • There was something about her being kidnapped by a Professor (?) and then presumed dead when Judi Evans left. Then somehow she ends up with Neil Everest with amnesia and being mute. Beth Chamberlain doesn't say a thing for like her first three months on the show.

    • We're getting an actual personality and flaws for Ashley... so it's a good start.  I'm guessing that Derek is her first serious relationship and I think she's falling out of love with Derek.. just hasn't accepted that realization as of yet. I agree that the show was diving headfirst into an Andre/Ashley pairing in the first handful of episodes, but they backed off of it and I have two theories: - Andre/Dani had a rapport/chemistry.  Probably more so than MVJ or the writers anticipated so the show is probably exploring that avenue. - Based on the character template that Ashley was created from... having her stray with Andre would have been out of character and caused the audience to hate her so the show is now weaving in reasons why Ashley might be looking Andres way (i.e. grass is greener on the other side, inexperience, Derek being too basic/vanilla).
    • Has anyone watched the Texas reunion interview? I haven't gotten to it yet although it'll probably mean more to the people who watched the show at the time.
    • Or, they could have recast the role and written the character better. Maybe too much to expect, but it was a choice. Surprised they never did. Was Raines ever popular? Wait. Wait. WAIT! THEY RETCONNED THAT AGAIN????
    • Hope you're feeling better @slick jones Came across another entry for House Jameson.  Unknown role on Guiding Light, 1958.
    • Greece, France and Luxembourg were my three clear favourites. I think Greece especially had a phenomenal staging. So beautiful. And Klavdia sang fantastic.

France also had beautiful staging and Louane sang her heart out. Finally Luxembourg, who had a vastly improved stage show compared to the national final, and I loved the nod to France Gall on the little tv screen in the dollhouse.
    • LOL - literally just added an edit to my post, because as I'm watching live right now, Dahlia is swimming in the pool alone and there is Marcus.  So annoying. And Phillip just revealed himself to Rick. I have to stop watching now, but curious to see how those interactions go!
    •   LOL.  I realized this week's Lope montage also omitted the Paris remote Lope scenes with Kim Matula. I mean, they repeat stuff over and over and over. I have unintentionally memorized B&B scenes that I barely watched --- because it was repeated in dialogue and immediate flashbacks in following episodes over and over and over.  Yet somehow Brad thinks viewers (even casual views like myself) wouldn't notice the glaring omissions in the montage?  or as dragonflies said, the montage using Lope scenes that happened during the Steam marriage?
    • Well, you wont be happy at all because I think Marcus of all people shows up..you know they have to have a scene were Dahlia is swimming and Marcus joins her..despite the fact that he is a decade older then her. You could tell they were trying to make them the next big thing but then, just dropped it.  The whole wedding was also one of the reason McLaibey was so short term.
