April 18, 201115 yr Member Holy [!@#$%^&*]! I'm stunned, truly stunned that it actually worked. And yes, I realized that it's just one sponsor, but it's still ONE! I would say the amount of money ABC is losing because of this is more than the lost on AMC and OLTL

April 18, 201115 yr Member Holy [!@#$%^&*]! I'm stunned, truly stunned that it actually worked. And yes, I realized that it's just one sponsor, but it's still ONE! It's a heck of a lot more than GL and ATWT fans ever dreamed of achieving. I always said that ABCD fans are annoying little f*ckers!! I bet Mrs. Kirkendalls just loves them some Tad
April 18, 201115 yr Member I'm watching Paula Deen's show on Food Network right now and Carla Hall is a guest (Top Chef - one of the hosts of The Chew). I love her to death, so I ain't mad at her... but Paula Deen just made a horribly staged Chew plug... the camera zoomed in on her and she said "girl, I need a CHEW" and then smiled. UGH
April 18, 201115 yr Member Also Doris Belack, Anthony Ponzini, Frank Converse, James O'Sullivan, Grayson Hall. I'm sure there are tons more.
April 18, 201115 yr Member Wow. That might leave a mark from the ring hand, at least. JPL's arduous, flailing follow-up statement is hilarious. All I can think of is Kramer on Seinfeld, getting caught posing as Mr. Moviefone. "Why don't you just tell me the name of the movie you want to see?!" I can't blame him for being tactful re: "Mistah Frons" to the end, honestly. He's young. But it was ill-timed given ABC's assholeish behavior. I would've made those semi-toadyish feelings clear in private. Edited April 18, 201115 yr by Vee
April 18, 201115 yr Member That's a pretty big sponsor isn't it? Hoover is a big name and must be alot of advertising bucks. Damn that's gotta hurtn LOL

April 18, 201115 yr Member A part of me wonders if Hoover was going to end their ads anyway and this is PR...but still, it's a surprise. I had read before that advertisers prefer soaps to the filler programs the networks are now churning out - if so then this might be the first sign.

April 18, 201115 yr Member Sorry, forgot to quote; this is from Ann_SS. I can't believe that he had to state the obvious for some fans. The intent of his original statement was pretty clear. It still seems odd to me, to personally thank Frons for not firing him. There are other people involved in that decision. Edited April 18, 201115 yr by CarlD2
