Members yrfan1983
Yes! The Julia from that clip is a totally different person than the "Power Julia" who returns in 1982. It's so crazy that the Newman ranch-house set from 1980 is basically the same 40 years later (allowing for some shrinkage due to lower budget)
Members Paul Raven
The room we see now representing the Newman Ranch is a totally different set to the 1980 ranch. That set stuck around for many years until Sharon burned down the ranch in 2012. It was replaced by a bland (an universally despised) new ranch which then became the room we see now. Members kalbir
I think the Christmas 1980 scene was a flashback from Julia's 2002 return but I could be wrong. 1980-1981 Julia was Bill Bell's version of Sue Ellen Ewing.

Members BoldRestless
I thought the writing about how Julia was such a strong woman was so heavy handed that it felt like Meg Bennet wrote the dialogue herself. She probably wasn't allowed to do that, but I do wonder if the other writers were writing with Meg in mind, not Julia. I so wish that we could see more of the breakdown Victor/Julia marriage and the dungeon storyline. It's hard to believe all of that happened in between the Christmas 1980 and 1981 clips? Feels like it would have taken longer. That's right. From March 2002.
Members yrfan1983
Ah, a rare Deborah Adair clip, I’ve always wanted to see that scene. Thanks! In the clips uploaded a few months ago by a YR angel, we saw Jack and Brenda D’s Jill recreating this scene in fall ‘83, but this original scene from June ‘83 wasn’t included.
Members DRW50
That's interesting. It's very difficult to imagine Brenda's Jill giving a damn.
Members YRfan23
You need to check out the 80's vault clips when you get the chance! The clips are amazing! the most we have gotten from 1982-1988 Y&R! Members OzFrog
I believe it has been stated previously (most likely by Meg Bennett herself) that she was not allowed to write for her own character, much in the same way that Randy Holland was forbidden from writing for his character Rick Daros while he was on the show.
Members YRfan23
Wow...I didn’t realize till now Randy Holland was also a writer on the show.. Please register in order to view this content
