Looks like an old script from March 28, 1977 is being offered on this page, along with the actual cassette! It's from the estate of director Richard Dunlap.

That’s amazing news! I would love to see what they are! Maybe we will be able to get a hold of a couple.

I'm salivating at the thought! 1973-78 were the show's very best years, IMHO.

I assume that this might become quite pricey - and the issue of conversion in a YouTube-able format is also a problem, huh?

Anyhow: I'd be willing to throw in something to sponsor for the purchase of these tapes...

Yep they are! I'll be buying them at the beginning of February and as soon as I get them, I will be sending them away to a company that will transfer them to DVD. Whenever I get the DVDs, I'll let you all know so they can be shared! :D

There are eight available Y&R eps from the 1970s that I know about.

--The debut from 1973

--1/21/74 (episode 205, the Fosters discuss their money woes))

--3/24/75 (Bill Foster collapses outside his family's front door)

--1975 (Jed and Lorie chat, Jen tells Bruce she's found a lump in her breast)

--7/75 (In the waiting room, Snapper talks to Chris about Jen's surgery)

--8/75 (The Brooks sisters hold a vigil in Jen's hospital room)

--10/76 (Liz pulls the plug on Bill)

--12/03/75 (Lance's gala, Leslie sings)

Any others I might be able to find?

PM me if you prefer.

Y&R and AW episodes from that era are on my holy grail list!

So exciting!!

Here's a preview of what we might expect to see, courtesy of the weekly recaps on the Daytime Royalty site.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 27 - MARCH 3, 1978
THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS
(12:00pm - 30 minutes - CBS)
Derek crudely told Kay to forget the new salon and their marriage. Greg advised the marriage may not be annulled if it was consummated, even while drunk. Nancy was convinced she was making progress with Karen while Chris was convinced the child wants Chris to be her mother. Lance stayed to comfort Leslie after she walked out during a concert. An agent wanted to promote Lorie’s book.

WEEK OF AUGUST 21 - AUGUST 25, 1978
THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS
(12:00pm - 30 minutes - CBS)
Kay didn’t respond to paralysis tests and accused Derek and Brock of staying by her side out of pity. Stuart was distracted by thoughts of Jill. Leslie told Lucas to think of her baby as his. Larry warned Linda to stay away from their children. Casey worried that Nikki hates herself because of her VD.
