Might be the lighting. This was taken around spring summer 1976 and was used for the Daytime TV Library Series. It seems an impromptu cast photo for the magazine. I have attached a colour version. This seems more an outtake, but I am pretty sure it was the one used on the cover.

ETA: Seems this was taken May 25, 26 or 27 1976 when Daytime TV was on set of the show

Janice looks fine, but I'm not sure that dress is the best look for her.

Thanks for that. The larger color pic looks much better.

Tom left Y&R for primetime. He booked a pilot called Time Travellers with another ex soaper Sam Groom but it didn't sell. he was one of the original team on Entertainment Tonight but was dropped. He never landed a series so I guess the chance to return to daytime was tempting.

Maxwell was going to be the next big villian, but it seems plans changed when Joe Mascolo agreed to return as Stefano and Tom was out of a job.

This was a nightmare! I'm glad he let her speak, but you could tell it was because it was completely uninterested and didn't know what he's talking about. He kept digging about how she got with her husband, when any Real Housewives fan knows she got with him while they were both married to other people. It was so awkward that he couldn't catch the hint and move on. Then when he mentioned Ashley's previous love interests, he seemed to miss most of her actual love interests and even asked her about Michael Tylo who was Brenda Epperson's love interest.

I wish when doing interviews with people from shows he doesn't know he'd ask fans for questions.

    • Corey was the first. Then Ingo 5-6 months later. And then Vince was the last gasp.
    • Funny, that's the one I loved the most!
    • And then to break the trend, Thorsten Kaye (German-British) on OLTL.
    • @ReddFoxx I adored Eva and Leslie's fashions. Bringing back the 80s, LOL.

They're different characters, for sure. Dani is a "Have" but she still has the underdog, aspirational element, and yearning, for Independence. Similar to Erica Kane. When the show gets to digging into Anita's career; I want them to reveal more unresolved issues between the two. I would find it believable for someone like Dani to have grown up with resentment and complex issues being surrounded by BRILLIANCE from every corner.
    • So yesterday I wandered off on a tangent about Elvis Presley, off the top of my head. Probably no one cares but I want to correct facts. Elvis Presley did have a twin who was stillborn. They named him Jesse Garon Presley & in a level of their emotional life he was very real to Elvis's mama & to a lesser degree to Elvis himself. I will now return you to your regularly scheduled discussing post-Ron prattle.
    • They are the absolute stars for me. I’m delighted every day that my feelings about them from the special on the show, turned out to be that and so much more. I genuinely feel episodes are better when they’re featured. This cracked me the hell up especially with Leslie listening

. This episode was so good, I will be rewatching when I get home tonight. THIS was classic soap opera.
    • I can barely remember who was the person they tested her with for the AMC revival but I *do* remember kinda liking them together (anyone remember better?  lol)  But yes, I feel the same.  It might not help that when I became a regular viewer Tad was presumed dead and she was with Craig...  I do remember that my sister's best friend had been an AMC viewer with her mom and dad and that they were very excited that Tad was returning... OK I instantly remembered that.  And now once again I'm sad about what coulda been with the reboot.
    • Well, that is weird. I do not see him but I only have him on Ignore on 2 accounts.
    • In the preview for the show back in February on Entertainment Tonight, Jeresa the costume designer was specific about each character's economic background, personality, and the character's personal fashion preferences.  Very much about the characters and not the actors. She said Eva is a thrifter, so her normal daily wardrobe would be something from a thrift store, and if BTG buys it new, they intentionally make it look used. So what you said fits about the type of thing a lower income person would buy for a fancy event.
