Members Darn
I don't even know what you're euphemizing but you stop that right now. But really, watch Breaking Bad. And Orange is the New Black. And The Good Wife. Best shows on TV bar none. Bar none!
Members Cheap21
and whats the alternative? Teaching them nothing? Teaching them to protect themselves is better than letting them be defenseless, bc the reality is they wont always be surrounded by adults. There arent only walkers to consider either bc as we've seen since the beginning of the series, humans can be more deadly in certain situations
Members Juliajms
I think it's wise to get them comfortable with using weapons at an early age, even if they can't save themselves with the weapon right now. Might as well learn self defense from the cradle in this world.
Members Ann_SS
The alternative is teaching them to use a gun which is something that they could actually use to defend themselves. How on earth is a child going to knife a walker in its head when he or she is half its height?
Members Cheap21
children can turn into walkers too and they'll likely face some of those. Besides, the hope is that these girls will grow up to be adults. This training now will help them in the long run
Members Ann_SS
Last time I checked most of the walkers are full adults which makes sense because children are easier for the walkers to attack and eat. Those children won't be surviving to grow up if they only have knifes to defend themselves against walkers. Those kids would be better off learning how to shoot first, while they have knife practice on the side. Members DRW50
Ammo isn't limitless. Knives are easier, and also less likely to cause accidental injury.
Members Darn
And a machete would make up for the height difference. Swift cut to under the jaw, one and done.
Members YRBB
Don't the walkers have to come down to the child's height in order to bite? Height difference solved. Plus, all the ammo wasted just learning to shoot... not a good thing.
Members Cheap21
All good points. They have to start somewhere. I saw nothing wrong with the knife training. All these survivors need to be equipped with the skills necessary in order to defend themselves in this world. Guns and ammo are something that's in limited supply
