Melissa Mcbride (Carol) is only four years older than Norman Reebus (Daryl). A romantic relationship could be possible between their characters eventually, but I think that the dynamic between them needs to become more romantic and less sibling-like. I remember thinking that Glenn and Maggie's attraction came out of nowhere, but now I think they have one of the best most intense compelling romances on tv so it is possible.

About the winter finale, now I am thinking that Rick and Daryl will be captured by the governor which will present Merle with a dilemma as he will be torn between his brother and the governor when the show returns.

I'm not sure a takeover of the prison would have any great impact now. In the comic, it was taken over and a lot of people died. Lori and her baby died in the prison raid in the comic. I can see Rick and Daryl being captured and Michonne going back to the prison and helping them out before the team gets to them.

I do agree it's,too soon for The Govenor to die. We,really don't know much about him yet and I think we will likely learn he killed his wife and child before the zombie apocalypse, showing he was a sociopath long before it started. Daryl won't choose his brother and I suspect DaryL will either kill him defending the group , Michonne ends up killing him, or maybe he does die nobly saving his brother. I think Daryl has become too protective of the group to turn on them now.

I'm warming up to Michonne finally and sense there is a lot more to her being a loner and expert in survival than has been exposed so far.

If Rick and Daryl are captured, Glenn and Maggie must escape. I don't see how TPTB can have all four of them captured without the governor killing them outright. At some point, Andrea is going to have to see one or all of them in Woodbury. She cannot stay in the dark much longer. I wonder if Michonne is also captured or if she manages to escape. I cannot see everyone escaping.

I am desperately trying to stay away from spoilers, but I do know that

I was going to ask about this Jacqui character. Reading about her, her story seems interesting to me, especially her death (which sort of reminds me of 70s British sci-fi - bleak but noble), but then I read comments that she barely had any lines and was basically a token.

What did you think of her?

Which TV characters who weren't in the comics do you think have worked out, and which characters who were in the comic do you think are most different (or came across better or worse to you in TV compared to the comic)? I've heard people say Carol is the most different.

I have only read the graphic novel's wikia so I cannot comment about any differences with the tv characters other than plot developments. I vaguely remember Jacqui as the African American woman who stayed in the CDC when it was blown up. She was an okay character, but not a lot of development there.

I know that I said that I would stay away from spoilers, but here is

I have been spoiled by the graphic novels so I am not visiting that site. I am already on tender hooks about which of the main cast will die next. I figure we are in for another major death by the end of the season. I was looking at a cast photo from season one earlier today and shook my head in disbelief when I realized that half of the characters were dead. I cannot remember another show where so many major characters have been killed off over a two to three year period. This and the compelling human drama is why The Walking Dead rocks hard! I still think Justified has the best writers and cast, while Dexter and Game of Thrones round out my top four, but this season has cemented The Walking Dead as number one in "my best tv show right now" ranking.

I just got turned onto this show and watched the entire series this week.

I have to say I was happy Dale died because he was just a nuisance. Shane had issues but I found him always right all the time in every debate, and the issue of saving the teenager's life was a perfect example. The entire first two seasons all their troubles would stem from Rick's good-natured decisions that put his own people in jeopardy. Season three is great too but I can understand why Andrea decided to stay. Michonne is ok, no great shakes because she is just needlessly full of attitude. There is no reason not to warn these people their enemy is Merle or that Andrea is alive.

Great show.

Marathon and it starts with the first eppy of the season. Love when they took over the prison. A bit too much gore for my taste, but the scenes were intense.

Daryl? Swoon... I love this guy. The first time I saw Norman Reedus he was on Law & Order SVU, and I didn't think much of him. Now, he is one of my absolute favs on TV. Such a kick ass character!

    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
    • A few more thoughts about these last two episodes. I thought it was interesting how much disdain both Dani/Anita have for Eva. I thought it was amusing how Dani was calling her lying/conniving and how Anita pointed as if to say, "that part". They definitely are not here for her, and I could see them having harsh confrontations with her in addition to Leslie. I'm curious to see Kat's interaction with Eva on Monday's episode. I think it might be interesting if Kat (along with possibly Naomi/Chelsea) come around to Eva before Dani/Anita do. Of course, Kat will be understandably angry at her. But maybe a tiny part of her might feel sorry for her if she really does believe that she's Ted's daughter as well and that Leslie lied to her. I could see Kat confronting Eva again and warning her not to harm her family anymore. But I could also possibly see Kat admitting that what Ted/Leslie did regarding her was messed up as well. And maybe that will pave the way down the line for them to get along better. I also agree with the comments/speculation made in the threat that Nicole will eventually accept/probably love her someday as well. I still wouldn't mind if somehow Nicole ended up being her biological mother. They have both been acting like they care for each other in this storyline. Nicole somehow ending up being her mother would be soapy and provide some more interesting layers in this story. And regarding Andre/Dani's romance it seems like they are genuinely developing feelings for each other. I have missed episodes, so maybe more of this has been elaborated on. But it seemed like there was genuine affection between both of them when they snuck a kiss publicly in the hotel. And also, them both talking about going publicly with their relationship. I wonder what everyone's reactions will be should they be caught by someone together. Of if they flat out tell everyone about their relationship.
    • I was wondering what week it was, and it explains the low rating for Knots Landing. I was also wondering what preempted Dallas and Falcon Crest.
    • Interesting take on Dallas. Frankly I think the plot of JR Returns should have been the way Dallas ended but for whatever reason they thought they had the chance to get renewed for another season lol. A week later Knots’ 2 hour season finale ranked at #10 against Cheers #3 and LA Law at #5. There’s only a handful of other shows running that long and still doing well enough the ratings/rankings i.e. Gunsmoke, Law & Order, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy and more recently Blue Bloods.    Another point of interest is the unraveling of the 80’s sitcoms had already begun in the spring of ‘91. The first part of a Who’s The Boss? two part season finale we see here ranked at  #40 and second part ranked at #43 the following week. Growing Pains finale the previous week barely made it into the Top 30. The Wonder Years fared no better. Cosby losing ground, Night Court and Dear John just being there etc.

I haven't posted in a few weeks and have some catching up to do. But I did manage to look at the last two episodes after hearing about how good they were. I really enjoyed them. My thoughts on them: The affair/secret child reveal was very good. TMG was really good as Leslie, her whole confrontation with Ted/revealing all to the Duprees was very entertaining. I continue to love AM/Eva. She my top two favorites on the show (along with Nicole). I have a lot of sympathy for Eva and how she was conflicted/ultimately felt guilty about publicly revealing the truth to everyone. I wonder what will happen to her next, especially if she does go and live with the Doctor that is friends with Ted and Nicole. I lol'ed at how Martin/Smitty jumped up and grabbed Leslie when Eva was calling her crazy. The way they did that was funny to me. I haven't liked many of Martin's actions/his attitude especially regarding Smitty/his children, but I think it was interesting how he wanted to check Ted for his actions. And also wanted Bill to be questioned/confronted about his as well. I haven't been the biggest fan of the character of Andre, but I appreciated his calm and measured approach after the reveal and how he talked with Eva. I thought it was interesting that he knew about the affair and convinced Ted not to tell Nicole. Speaking of Nicole, I continue to love her character and view her as the heart of this show/Dupree family. I am interested in seeing where her journey goes as a character after this reveal. I'm looking forward to her leaning on Dani and (also Anita/Vernon, etc...) for a change.
