November 9, 201015 yr Member http://twitpic.com/353jkn great picture of Molly & Suzanne (Eh, Alfonso is there too) before doing an interview. Has anyone gotten the photo book yet? I enjoyed seeing them, but I really, really hate interviewers who have no idea what they are talking about nor who their talking with. That blonde chick even admitted she didn't watch soaps. Oh well, coverage is coverage I guess.
November 9, 201015 yr Member At this point, it's not so much the brightness of the lighting, but rather the hue. The coloring is off. We know it's not our TV set settings, because everyone has said the same thing and peoples' screencaps reflect that. It's too pink. The men all look sunburnt or have that reddish, pinkish look that some older men eventually get (rosacia?). Yesterday, the color of Justin Kiriakis' face was that of somebody who's been holding their breath for a minute. Something is off. +1
November 9, 201015 yr Member I noticed that too. She looked so pristine in that coffin. Very beautiful indeed I've been trying to bite my tongue on Maggie in the coffin. In Canada we get today's and tomorrow's version every day and I'd already seen this yesterday. Maggie was AMAZING and Victor knows. You know he knows, he's just not putting all his sense together yet.
November 9, 201015 yr Author Member lol @ Nicole, "Oh sweet mother of god". Love that she found the evidence! This is soo good. Sucks that this is yet another secret she'll have to keep from Brady, though. It irks me when people say "Since your going to be a sister soon.." to Melanie. Uhm she already is a sister, can someone please tell her about her half brother Nicholas Alamain? Suzanne Rogers is doing an effortless job in that coffin! And I love that Victor gets the feeling that something's wrong, so he's about to open that coffin and see.
November 9, 201015 yr Member All My Children and Days are totally different types of show thus it makes sense that the lighting/production values are different on each show. AMC is still trying to pass itself off as a serious soap opera thus the more subdued lighting while DAYS is more of a campy/spoof soap opera thus the more flamboyant lighting. See, I hate that. Why can't the show be campy and take itself seriously? Right now, the show looks like a cartoon. The sets look like those you would see on a show like Hannah Montana or Wizards of Wavery Place. Days shouldn't look like a tween show on Disney. It should look like what it is -- a soap opera.

All good camp takes itself very seriously, that's what makes it camp. Batman, Dynasty...they never knew they were in anything anyone would find funny.

November 10, 201015 yr Member I think I much prefer the earth tone approach. In comparison I thought Erica's new set on AMC looked so gorgeous. It has the black and white going for it but it does have color with the splash of red. This red though is subtle and not as loudor bright Id imagine it would be on Days. Overall a very modern and elegant look. They can not only work on te lighting but pick different color tones for their scenes bc it makes all the difference to me this is all practically one shade of earth. She is in what is presumably some fire engine red outfit, and yet she doesn't stand out from anything. It's all one giant salute to autumn or something. I do like the wood floor and the camera angle, but it all just sort of bleeds into each other except for the white table and the 2 candles on either side of him. Im pretty sure that the 60's Batman show knew that it was campy. The show knows it is funny, but the characters have no idea. You never see "wacky hijinks" on Batman. Adam West was brilliant in that role I thought. He delivered every line so earnestly.
November 10, 201015 yr Member I love this HD, I don't see the problem with it. Oh well, you damned if you do damned if you dont . OTHO: days was great today! I am loving november in Salem! EJ needs to be buried alive next with no savior to rescue him!

November 10, 201015 yr Member Chloe looks sooo orange. Ha, so true. Nadia, in person, never looks orange tho. On tv and in pictures? Snooki. i dont get it. Started watching Days again, it's so much better soap than the ABC soaps. I flove me some Maggie LOVE all this Maggie love! Suzanne Rogers puts ALL the younger actors to shame. Her acting as Maggie was talking to Vivan was simply amazing. Very subtle but she potrayed the emotions perfectly. She needs an Emmy nom Exactly. Awesome picture -- and all three generations of actresses look absolutely beautiful. So do the colors in the set behind them -- very plush and autumnal. Haven't gotten the book. Still deciding whether I should. I couldnt agree more. I love the colors of the set. The book is BEAUTIFUL. I enjoyed seeing them, but I really, really hate interviewers who have no idea what they are talking about nor who their talking with. That blonde chick even admitted she didn't watch soaps. Oh well, coverage is coverage I guess. LOL, Good Day LA is a trainwreck, and its amazing. they never know what they are doing or anything about who they are interviewing. They do have quite a bit of soap opera coverage on there tho.
November 10, 201015 yr Member Im pretty sure that the 60's Batman show knew that it was campy. 60's stuff in general was campy. It was a new industry with growing pains and a lot of it was live. Besides, there's nothing wrong with campy - too many take themselves too serious anyway.

I call it "Soap Opera for Dummies." The show appeals to the lowest common denominator because there's nothing interesting or dynamic about it whatsoever. Any idiot can tune in and think the show is great because there's nothing in the stories to challenge or confuse them. Simpletons love simple stories. Dumb people don't enjoy smart writing. They enjoy having things dumbed down for them. They prefer when things are "simplified" because they can't make sense of anything that's written for people with an IQ higher than 12. And that's what Days is giving them. "Simplified" stories. (By the way, when I say "simplified," I mean stupid and boring.) That's not to say that everyone who enjoys the show is an idiot, but I'm willing to bet that a good portion of the audience is dumber than your average individual and they have no gauge for quality entertainment.
November 10, 201015 yr Member None of that really matters because it got rewarded for being exactly that.
