uh no they wouldn't, the timeslot would go back to affiliates lol.

Since she quit on Thursday, and Friday's are taped, we'll have to wait till Monday to hear all about it, if she's there...lol

Jeez, I can hardly believe that this show has been on for almost seventeen years. This is a shock to me. I didn't think she'd ever leave, regardless of her primetime gigs.

I suspected Whoopi would leave first. I watched for the first time in a long while the other day and they had all of these clips of people welcoming Barbara back (including Susan Lucci and the cast of GH). Barbara came across a lot more likeable after her health scare. She said that Frank Langella gave her the chicken pox and I thought it was funny how they neglected to mention the rumors that they were dating a few years ago and that Whoopi had been in a ltr with him.

Barbara is retiring and Elizabeth contract may not be renewed.... Plus ABC wants to "reboot" the show for the fall whatever that means....

All best wishes to Joy in whatever she does. Over the long haul she was the most tolerable of the Ladies of the View.

I won't be surprised to see Barbara exit and focus on her specials and occasional news broadcasts. She's going to be 84 this year and the rumours have been swirling that she's looking to wind down her career somewhat.

I haven't watched The View in awhile... and this news just seals that I won't return. Joy was definitely the best thing about the show.

YES, absolutely. I just read a headline for this story that says she's leaving after 16 years, and I was just dumbfounded for a second. But I remember when this show first premiered... Damn.
