I don't think she's self hating, I don't think Raven is that much of an "out there" name. It's just a bird name like Robin. Finch, Jay, or Teal. 

You seem to be under the impression I'm only calling her self hating because of this recent idiotic spew which isn't the case. She's clearly a self hater when she sits her ass in an interview with Oprah and identifies as a "colorless American", when she goes on a tangent about having "good hair texture", when she fixes her mouth to complain about black women wearing weaves and blonde hair nevermind the atrocities sitting on top of her head, when she brags about being from every "continent" from Africa and Europe, when she laughs about Michelle Obama being compared to a monkey and Rosie Perez has to check her. The list can go on and on, this situation is just the cherry on top. She's a proven self hating idiot which is most likely why the network hired her.

 

And you are right, Whoopi did break barriers, in ways you could only dream of, so quit throwing her under the bus just because she holds different opinions from you, which are largely generational.

She's doing damage control and now issuing an "apology"

 

My comments about discrimination have spun out of control.

 

I'd like to begin by saying that I was not attacking a specific race, but repeating a name that was said in a viral video which has received over 2 million likes.

 

I have been denied many jobs because of my skin color, body size, and age. Each time I was rejected, my self esteem was negatively effected, so i empathize with those who feel victimized by what I said. We would hope that when it comes to hiring, our names, physical appearance, sexual orientation, and age would never outweigh our qualifications, but often times, they do, thats the truth and it sucks. But I should not be part of the problem, I should be part of the solution.

 

As an equal opportunity employer, I have never discriminated against a name....even though I said I would, it's not true. My comment was in poor taste. My lack of empathy towards name discrimination was uncalled for. I would also like to say that on Friday my account was hacked, those are not my words.
