BTW, no one has addressed the crazy question I posed and the plausibility of such...

Would Les Moonves and CBS be bold enough to shift MommyView into Y&R's timeslot and move Y&R to 2PM?

I think they would cancel B&B and move Y&R up a half hour.

What would that mean for the half-hour news broadcasts some of these affiliates have? They will never sacrifice those for MommyView or Y&R.

If Bloom insists on sabotaging Y&R because she has no real, creative control over it, I could very well see her going along with Moonves' idea to put MommyView on at 12 or 12:30.

I guess I see them as looking for reasons to slowly phase out all their soaps. I'd forgotten about the timeslot confusion.

Slowly?? GL and ATWT gone in a split second! That doesnt sound slow to me.

I always forget how disjointed CBS lineups are across the nation. Would it even make sense for CBS to give out a specific timeslot for ChenShow if the stations are just gonna air it whenever they want to?

When's the last time (if ever) a network actually got time back from the affiliates? I want so badly for ABC to put a half-hour game show on before AMC. I want that "Downfall" to be retooled to a less ridiculous format for daytime.

What makes Martha stand out is being fascinated by how this extremely cold, controlled, sometimes extremely passive-aggressive person can handle a talk show where anything can happen. Even after all these years seeing her run roughshod over the people who work for her (who at times seem to have identical hairdos to her...) and seeing her "interview" guests can be TV gold. That and the random thrashing she did of Cybill Shepherd a few years back.

I always worry about Martha's ratings. She used to be one of the mid-morning talkers around here, and I think she even had the pre-AMC for its first two years on the air, but then they all just pushed her to late night. I thiiiiink one station here still has her in the mornings, but it's been years since I've seen her. My favorite thing about her show has always been seeing the most random people standing up there making cookies with her or planting flowers or upholstering chairs, etc. Snoop Dogg was sharing baking recipes with her once. That's my kind of daytime!

Sometimes I'm surprised her show is even on the air, as Martha isn't really the name she once was. But apparently she's moving to Hallmark.

I know what you mean about seeing the random people on her show. Have you ever seen her April Fool's Day shows? Some of them are hilarious.

I will always have a soft spot for her because she uses a Dusty Springfield song as her opening theme.

This actually sounds interesting, I'm going to watch.

Y&R/B&B are screwed, NO WAY can I see this airing at 2pm EST. Timeslots are going to be changed.

Does it matter what happens to Y&R and B&B too this point?? They are both awful now.

Y&R-----Jill and the stupid Fenmore story......Malcolm Family Matters Winters struting his stuff...and a 2 year old brat coming in naked by horse to a restaurant is the last draw for me. That was beyond NOT Y&R.

B&B-----Trashy show where Ridge..who cant act s h i t.....forgives his wife for [!@#$%^&*] around...and [!@#$%^&*] her after finding out......insane pairings like Aggie and Jack Wagners character..ewwwwwwwwwwwww.....bad acting worse than a Susan Summers special.

I'm loving B&B right now. LOL

Y&R sucks ass though, I must agree.

I think B&B is a joke. It has been for many years. I'm ashamed it's part of soap history. Bradley Bell trashy writing is bad. He is not his father's son. Bradley Bell winning an Emmy proves nothing! Flannery and White are the ones who deserve the Emmy and NOT him.

Ugh, such bullsh*t!

Whatever... I know it's a lot cheaper to produce a talk show. Still, I'm not watching it. Once ATWT is gone, I'm done with CBS altogether. It's the only show I watch on the channel.

I don't wish cancellation on any soap, so good luck to Y&R and B&B. Because this doesn't look promising.

From Deadline Hollywood:

Daily Talk Show To Replace 'As The World Turns' On CBS This Fall

By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Wednesday July 21, 2010 @ 9:54am PDT

EXCLUSIVE: I hear CBS has picked the replacement for departing daytime soap As the World Turns: a daily panel talk show hosted by Sara Gilbert, on whose idea the show is based, Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne and Leah Remini that focuses on topical events through the eyes of moms. The pilot, executive produced by Tom Forman (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), John Redmann (The Tyra Banks Show) and Gilbert, was one of several CBS ordered for the ATWT timeslot, along with a Pyramid reboot hosted by Andy Richter and a cooking game show starring Emeril Lagasse. But I hear the View-type female-oriented talk show screened very well at the network and had been the clear frontrunner. I hear eyes a tentative October launch, a pretty ambitious plan for mounting a new daily show with only 8 weeks of prep time. ATWT is slated to bow out in September after a 54-year run. The talk show will be filmed in Los Angeles where Chen also co-hosts CBS’ Early Show year-round as well as the network’s reality series Big Brother in the summer.

Die, bitches. Die.

Leah Remini seems somewhat unpleasant.

"Friend of Tom," isn't she?

who the F___ cares that they're mothers? What does they being mothers do for me? If anything, it probably means their opinions are even more annoying than the ones on the view, but maybe they can guilt trip the audience into watching.

I just don't understand the women who make up the viewing public. The tripe they will watch hour after hour...how many chat shows, judge shows, cooking shows, and therapy and self help shows starring Oprah wannabes does the American woman need to have a satisfying day?

I thought the mothers of America were working, and that was what killed the soaps. No?
