SLC

Mid-season trailer!!! Looks like they were down here around my house. lol.

Looks like Jen's last stand is going to be good. And of course Heather is playing Betrayed Friend. RME. Though I wonder if anyone punched her in the face.

Look at Angie K (not H) stepping it up. And Danna as well.

Shockingly looks good, but it could be stories climaxing

'Go after the husband' was the gift that kept on giving when it came to Potomac. It has become a bona fide template of the show. Now this template is coming up against (A) the Law of Diminishing Returns), and (B ) a target who has greater credibility amongst the audience than Gizelle or Ashley.

This is not to take away from my enjoyment of the season thus far. The Potomac cast is so tough! They withstand blow after blow after blow from the GEBs and Ashley (and BTW Ashley is not some independent mover & shaker. She is no true friend to anybody but the GEBs. After pretending to be pals with Wendy this week, she is already throwing her under the bus in Miami). And then this cast bounces back, keeps it moving and bides its time until they can deliver a blow of their own.

Nevertheless, there are cracks that can never be glossed over. Gizelle & Robyn truly despise Wendy & Karen, for example. These two parties are never, ever getting back together.

The casting jackpot on Potomac has been largely due to longtime relationships prior to the show. If Bravo wants to recast, the cast may have to dig deep into longtime ties again, like Erica Lyles (on Gizelle's side). Or how about you throw in a wild card like... Phaedra Parks?

IA that Mia and Wendy are not quite working. Wendy feels awkward and contrived when she is with the cast. Mia is auditioning for a whole other show over on VH1, and is such a flip-flopper that nothing she says carries any weight.

Charrisse can disappear under a rock. She has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

What I don't get is Charrisse complaining about the vacation house that Bravo picked out for them all. If you are trying to regain a spot on the show you were fired from, the least you could do is feign excitement for your sleeping arrangements. They fact that she was going to go to a hotel because she didn't have her own bathroom was stupid. At this point, Bravo needs to let the women arrange their own sleeping arrangements on these shows or scrap the repetitive plot about them bitching about bedrooms. It's tired. It's old. It's low-hanging fruit at this point. Majority of the population would kill to vacation in a lot of the homes that these ladies get to rest their heads.

And while I still enjoy Potomac, the missing factor (IMO) is Monique. Say what you want, Monique brought an energy to this show that cannot be duplicated. She was the one stable housewife on the show that we knew would provide us wealth but in a subtle way. Now, the cast is loaded with a bunch of posers living off them "little Bravo checks" as Monique would say. Also, Monique meshed well with the group. At her height, she was good with Ashley, Karen, and Candiace. She had chemistry with those women while being the perfect foil for the GEBs.

I do think the show is about to possibly take a dark turn next week with Mia assaulting Wendy. Given what Wendy has said in interviews, the GEBs are going to possibly be in favor of Mia assaulting Wendy, which will make them hypocrites and reopen the entire assault of season 5. Yet again, the albatross of Monique will continue to dangle over this show.

Monique and LVP are the two housewives that left the show on their own terms and still have a presence on the show despite wanting anything to do with it. The power these women possess...

Or worse... glass-sliding doors that do not function, especially without "bb.moveobjects on" put on. LOL.

I think if they were blended more or more of a balayage effect, they'd look better, which is why I also believe it Robyn's hair were the honey-hue, and this red were the put-in pieces, it'd look somewhat less awkward.

Agree 100% about Monique. She is missed and needed. Bravo casted well when they added her in the 2nd season and Candiace in the 3rd. However, the additions of Wendy and Mia have been a miss and a miss. I can't imagine who of the remaining core four would leave next, but they definitely need to prepare in advance and find stronger, better women to interact with the vets.

Honestly, I get this feeling in my gut that Candiace is leaving after this season. She and Broke Chris keep being terrors on social media, and she has been warned for 3 seasons about her social media antics. Plus, Andy can't stand her. He doesn't even hide his disdain for her.

I think we are stuck with Wendy for about another season even though these women are trying to ice her out.

Mia is up in the air, IMO. Fans might be so repulsed by her actions in this upcoming episode that they might get rid of her.

This is why I will always say Gizelle is a short-sighted idiot. The Karen/Gizelle/Robyn/Ashley/Monique dynamic was GOLDEN. Adding Candiace (her 1st season) elevated the show even more. It is when Gizelle started doing all them backstage antics to undermine Monique and Karen is what has caused this show to start taking a dip and mess up the dynamics.

Same thing happened with Dallas. And Beverly Hills. And NYC. These women need to learn to stop playing casting director, accept when the chemistry is good, and stop going below the belt.

I'm not a regular viewer of the Housewives, but does anyone think that the Larsa Pippen/Marcus Jordan relationship is going to be a storyline on Miami this season? I find the whole dynamic of their relationship creepy, considering she was in his orbit when he was a child.

I was going to mention her, but the cast did such a good job of icing her out and giving her the Danielle Staub treatment that I didn't know if she could ever come back. Also Candiace would never stand for it, and I think Candiace might have more sway with production and more fans in the audience than one might think. The Diamonds & Rosé book about RH has the production EP co-signing this, calling Monique fake and untrustworthy and basically it was a "see ya." So, I wasn't sure Monique would ever be able to return. But you are right: we are two seasons out from her final season, and Monique's shadow continues to loom over proceedings.

Basically, RHOA are crying out for Porsha, Nene and Phaedrea to return, so RHOP might as well go for broke and getting her back. Otherwise she remains the 'elephant' in the room.

It all depends on how the women treat production backstage.  It isn't the only factor..but if you have nothing going on in your life or bringing anything to group scenes...then it becomes important.

I recall Bravo did a special on season 8 of OC... and as it turned out...Gretchen had nothing going on in her personal life, she kept making Tamra the heavy in their team up against Alexis, she also faked the proposal and was not too popular with production.

In regards to Mia, Wendy, and Candiace...

Candiace:

Is giving in group and individual scenes...so she'll have to do something truly vile on social media to get the boot.  I'm curious how production feels about her.

Mia:

She doesn't gel with the group and not sure about her individual scenes.  She might be a dream to work with behind the scenes with production..who knows.

Wendy:

She has an interesting backstory and she does provide a nice contrast to the other women.  However, she seems a little too high on herself and seems like she'd be a nightmare to production (and her condescending tone to the designer on Project Runway enhances my theory).

    • Yes, Nicole's work would be seen as important, but she's wouldn't be (arguably) a national figure.
    • Y&R 1976 Pt 4 Lance finally gets the opportunity to meet Leslié’s  husband. Laurie has told Brad she believes Lance is in love with Leslie, and Lance himself tells Brad he’s in love with Leslie’s talent. Laurie is beginning to feel  that Lance is using her to get close to her sister. ‘When Leslie has a concert scheduled in Mexico City, Brad makes plans to accompany her. But his violent headaches unexpectedly return, and he’s forced  to cancel. Brad doesn’t give her a reason, saying only that she must trust him. But Leslie recalls that he missed her last concert without a reason and presses for an explanation. Brad tells her his mother is ill, but Leslie phones Mrs. Elliot and finds her mother-in- law quite well. Lance has a business trip to Rome in the works, and Laurie again agrees to accompany him. She has told Brad that the best way to handle Lance, who is used to having females swooning at his feet, is to play hard to get, while Lance has confided to Leslie that — since Laurie is used to adoration by the male species, he will ignore her. As a result, their Rome trip turns out to be a supreme battle of wits, but, as Lance notes to Laurie, being predictable is boring. Jack, trying desperately to help Joanne become independent and self-reliant, has encouraged her to  go back to college. Brock concurs, and even arranges for Kay to lend Joanne the tuition money. But on her first day at the university she overhears Jack telling Peggy that after he gets Joanne back on her own feet, he can divorce her and marry Peg. Brokenhearted, Joanne goes home and starts eating, but she’s thwarted by having only diet foods in the apartment. So she decides to give up once and for all, and swallows a bottle of medication. Brock finds her unconscious and rushes her to the hospital. When she comes to, she tells Brock she’s going to give Johnny his divorce. Seeing the report at his newspaper, Stuart Brooks kills the story, then goes to see Joanne. She insists she doesn’t want Johnny to know what she tried to do. Stuart does, however, tell Peggy, who goes to see Joanne. Peg is overcome with guilt, but Joanne tells her she’s now decided that Johnny still cares for her because,  with Brock’s help, she realized Johnny has still never  actually mentioned a divorce to her. She declares her  intention to fight for what’s hers. Joanne is surprised when Peggy insists on taking her under her wing to select new dresses which minimize - her weight and a new hairstyle that’s more flattering  and up to date But Peggy explains. she has to help Joanne to be the best she can so she, Peggy, won’t — win Jack by default. Bill Foster is deeply in love with his wife, but. she has refused to allow him to share her bedroom since his return. When Chris explains that Liz had him  legally declared dead nine years after he deserted his family and that, to Liz, their marriage ended, Bill asks Liz to marry him again. Ironically, Sam Powers, the man Liz would have married had Bill not returned, visits Genoa City to try one last time for Liz’s hand. Bill makes it clear to Liz that he will step aside immediately if it means her happiness, but Liz quickly reveals that Bill is now a changed man and she has fallen in love with him all over again. They are remarried in their own living room and are unbelievingly surprised when, just following the ceremony, their children hand them their own luggage, packed and full, and they are presented with tickets for a dream cometrue honeymoon in Hawaii, a gift from Stuart and Jennifer Brooks, their son Snapper’s in-laws. Brad has taken advantage of Leslie’s concert tour to have extensive tests made in Chicago. Brad was, for many years, a successful neurosurgeon there, but he  gave up his practice when a patient, a little boy, died on his operating table and he then found out the ‘child was his son. The boy’s mother, Barbara, had become pregnant shortly before her relationship with Brad ended and never told him about the child, as she couldn’t use the baby to force Brad to come back to her. Now Barbara, a nurse in the hospital ‘where Brad is being tested, pleads with him to tell his wife what’s happening to him, but he insists he cannot. The specialists find all test results negative; there is no apparent cause of his blindness. He refuses Barbara’s  offer of help and returns to Genoa City alone. Leslie’s mentor, the Maestro, arrives home before Leslie and hurries to tell Brad that Leslie knows his  mother wasn’t ill but feels it would degrade their marriage if she asked him where he had been. The Maestro adds that it’s all up to Brad now. But upon Leslie’s return Brad continues his pretense and offers no information. He can'f bring himself to let her her see what’s happening to him. Chris is on duty at Legal Aid when a Mrs. Nancy Becker and her daughter, Karen, arrive, asking for help. Nancy’s husband, Ron, has been arrested, and they have no money for food or for bail. She explains that Ron was arrested for rape, but she insists he’s innocent before collapsing and passing out. At the hospital Snapper runs tests and finds that Nancy is in a diabetic coma and may be hospitalized for several weeks. Chris, sympathetic to the woman and her child, takes Karen to her mother’s, and Jen quickly offers to  care for the child. Hoping to locate relatives who can help his family out, Chris visits Ron in jail. He tells her he has no family-and Nancy is estranged from hers because of their marriage. He asks her for legal help, but Chris replies he’s talking to the wrong person - she |was once a rape victim herself. Ron is soon released, when witnesses verify seeing him elsewhere at the time of the attack. But Chris is uneasy; her intuition as a rape victim tells her he’s guilty. Ron has lost his job because of being arrested, and Chris and Stuart offer to help him find another. Jen offers to continue caring for Karen.
    • Don't know if this has been posted; however, it appears the story bible, Shadows on the Wall, has been uploaded for anyone to snag here:  https://archive.org/details/shadows-on-the-wall-1 (rough draft) AND  https://archive.org/details/shadows-on-the-wall-1/page/91/mode/2up
    • Major flaw! And that's why I said Dani would've been better off an screwed up kid (black sheep). Nicole got an award because she's doing important work. Depression is real, Mental illness is real. People are homeless and committing suicide in jails because they lack proper help. Yes, she modeled, but I mean, even Tyra pivoted into acting, talk shows, her own company, managing other models, etc.
    • I will admit to not liking John Bolger in the role of Phillip, but on rewatch, he has a really nice friend chemistry with Michael and Krista. And I think it's the only period of time where Phillip hasn't pulled Rick into some stupid scheme that ends up hurting the friendship.

You're right about everything! The casino needs to go and it's ugly! The ugliest set on BTG.
    • Jayne Bentzen is the actress who played Nicole at that point. She joined Edge the year before, replacing Maeve McGuire.
    • Wait.....Anita is an EGOT, Vernon was an important Senator, and Dani was an international model (no matter how brief, although I thought she said she was on par with Tyra Banks(or someone)...meanwhile, Nicole's some nice psychologist/psychiatrist with an award on her wall...but Dani's hasn't added to the Dupree mystique?  I don't think the writers considered ever having any Dupree be less than utterly fabulously successful  and that's actually flaw in the structure of the show.  Oh, I forgot to say...Smitty acts like she stumbled into Vanessa's Only Fans account and paid for a picture of her dirty undies before realizing it was her.
    • I watched another batch of episodes and I have a sense of dread. I fear they are setting up a murder storyline with one of my favorite characters as the victim. I don't know if that would be considered a spoiler so won't reveal the character. If that's so, i will be extremely disappointed as this person has done Emmy caliber work and would create such a void on the show.  If I'm right, I think I know who the suspect will be and I would rather the suspect be murdered.  Joel Crothers's Miles has had more of a presence with his wife Nicole and I enjoy both actors. Crothers is just so yummy and charismatic. Don't know who plays Nicole but I like their relationship.  Ann Williams has been phenomenal as Margo. Margo is desperate to keep Eliot and make April happy. Williams had a nice scene with Kibbee's Geraldine about Logan and the baby. Eliot has been so slimy and menacing but he's so watchable. April and Draper are still fighting over the baby and something has happened to April to land her in the hospital. I just keep hoping she'll kick Draper out. The man is such a pain. Raven needs to come back and sleep with him. She can liven him up. Ann Flood and Frances Fisher had a wonderfully written scene where Deborah confesses her feelings for Owen. The writing and acting for this scene was first-rate. I want more of Flood. It's good to see Fisher getting more to do. Steve and his low cut shirts have been sidelined lately. The writers are setting up a Deborah/Nola confrontation.  Paige and Brian are still pretty much an afterthought. The movie plot is coming along nicely and there was a great episode where Margo had a party for the movie at her penthouse. Still enjoying the show.
