Wendy needs to remove whatever is up her ass re: Mia. Instead of feeling her out like everybody else on this show, she's coming for her throat and thinking that she'll fold like a cheap suit.

And while I'm not one that thinks that Wendy is hideous-looking (she's pretty) or that Mia is this untouchable stunner (she's no Katie Rost), Zen Wen clearly believes so which is why she's pressed by her presence while trying to refashion herself as an IG ho. If these over the top confrontations weren't evidence, her telling Eddie to revise his answer spelled it out.

Imagine being an accomplished and intelligent academic/cable news panelist who achieved success through her own hard work and merit being completely bothered by someone who had to marry to get to where she is...couldn't be me.

@VirginiaHamiltonWendy’s instant dislike of Mia reminds me of Nene with Kandi on RHOA S2. It’s literally out of nowhere and Mia did nothing to her lol. Such a random feud! I must say Wendy from the moment she was first announced is nothing like I expected. She has a messy side to her, which I do like because that makes a great HW.

You know... that's a great comparison. Linnethia was determined to bait Kandi for existing for reasons that went beyond her remixing Tardy For The Party into something listenable, the same way that Zen Wen is determined to bring Mia down to size for being a plastic surgery-addicted former "bartender" (stripper) who married well.

I know Candiace gets into it with Mia down the line, but her following the rest of the cast in throwing cute shade here and that goes a long way in making her look better than thirsty Dr. Wendy.

If Wendy is hoping to launch her own Gizelle/Grande Dame feud to maintain relevance on this show, she has overestimated her appeal with viewers. Whether one is Team Karen or Team Gizelle, what is mutually agreed upon is that both have seasons-long history with each having enough charisma to keep it going for as long as it has.

Actually, it even predates the show which I point out simply because I think this is SO key to what makes good riveting TV.
Teresa vs Danielle vs her family, the NY OGs against each other, Giz vs Karen, Kyle vs Kim... The most compelling lasting feuds have been when there is underlying history and layers after layers of subtext that goes beyond "Look! A camera! Let me start [!@#$%^&*] with this relative stranger for airtime!"

THIS. As much as "Four Degrees" was a meme last year, I had no problem with Intellectual Wendy. Far from it -- loved the idea of a professor/political commentator bringing a different dynamic. One of Wendy's best episodes last season was when she hosted a community Q&A about getting involved in local politics. It showed her at her best.

This year, Wendy appears to have taken Production's note about 'no more degrees talk' and decided to become Vapid Wendy. Nothing wrong with getting work done and and being open about it. However, she seems preoccupied now with becoming an Influencer and "take a photo of me with my titty cake." Maybe she always dreamed of being an influencer which, if so, great. But I'm finding Wendy MORE insecure in her new looks, not less. Last year she seemed more confident. I did like Wendy's Dominique Devereux look with the red dress and fur stole, though!

She's definitely bothered by Mia precisely because Mia is unbothered by her.

There was a lot of upfront sex talk this episode. I didn't quite know what to think when Ashley told her MOTHER about Michael using 'other holes.'

 Not your mom, Ashley!

I guess Candiace settled with Bravo this episode after asking for a raise and an advance!

These episodes feel like BFF Merry-Go-Round, with new people hanging with each other for strategic reasons. The most pressing RL rivalries are Karen vs Gizelle (and by extension Robyn), and Ashley vs Candiace. The show appears to be tiptoeing around the former like it's comedy and ignoring the latter.

I’ll admit, even though it isn’t great, it’s my most anticipated HW show every week. I can admit RHOP and RHOBH are better overall, but I still feel like the ladies always deliver moments that make it worth it for me. New York has always been my favorite though.

The Real Housewives of New York:

  • I'd like to note the previous episode was filmed on my birthday. Insane. And I was meant to go to Salem that day.
  • Leah and Ramona have their heart-to-heart was seen, but, much like years past it won't last at all. It'll be burned as quick as it was made.
  • Bershan did not know the Pandora's Box she opened with a drunk Sonja... because, she is an amateur, and is deserving of Sonja's wrath.
  • Bershan can call the ladies "boring" and "old," and repeatedly call Sonja a "clown," but the moment Sonja tells her to use her brain it's all over? Girl. Sit your ass down.
  • A firebomb was needed? No, it wasn't Bershan. It was not.
  • WHY is the altercation being kept as an after-thought? Insane. When producers need to intervene you know that sh*t is serious.
  • I can appreciate Leah, Luann and Ramona coming together to have the discussion with Sonja. However, I do wish we had someone like Bethenny in the discussion. Why? Because, I do feel as if Lu and Ramona are going to sugar coat things.
  • I feel like Sonja is over the B.S. of the ladies at this point, especially Ramona. Don't ask me why.
  • Oh, Sonja is DONE during Bershan's apology.. and then Bershan lies... "I wasn't pointing at anyone," girl you pointed out Sonja REPEATEDLY and WITHOUT CARE or AWARENESS!
  • "You took my drink, bitch. You think I'm stupid?" See... Sonja has the slightest buzz from the booze, and it's nice. THAT is when she should know she should stop.
  • Okay, now we're getting the list of people Sonja see's... the shaman, the facialist, the Buddha. LOL.
  • And... just as I suspected, Luann and Ramona were not the right people for that sit down. Eboni should've been there... given how much Eboni and Sonja have connected.
  • Seeing Eboni tear up is beautiful... seeing that vulnerability just flattered her so much.
  • "Who wants to talk about their trauma?" Girl... remember the reunion, or any season, when you go "When you grow up abused..." Girl, to quote Bethenny: you should be living in a commune.

    • So I think I figured based on the end credits who is the script writer for each episode. Thursday's episode looked to have been script written by David Kreizman, and it was a well written episode that flowed well. Today's episode looked to have been script written by Henry Newman (son of Fran Myers and the late Roger Newman).   Right now, I've noticed improvements on the day to day scripts and that's a good sign that eventually the long term outlines that we will see in the coming weeks and months will be good.  Fingers crossed.
    • I have a very different view of Dano. For one thing, she like me, loves her little dogs. Another thing, of course she is effusive, outgoing but she is also very vulnerable & she used to have her Frank, her mother & Vivian who officially was her publicist (I think) but she was so much more. Now, they are all gone. Well, except for her always having a pair of her little dogs. But, if I were going to think in your terms, what I would think is "cool aunt". Because this lady is really one cool dame. Here is one of my favorite views of her https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGecq8rJS4w/

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek
