How funny. I was about to slowly turn in and realized that I've been so busy today with me feeling my holiday schedule and saw the post. And I realized that Ashley wasn't on the age list, and I was shocked by two things:

1) Ashley is STILL the youngest.

2)Ashley and I SHARE THE SAME BIRTHDAY. WOW. THAT explains so much. Hehe.

Yes, POTOMAC does bring out a lot of insightful posts. And given how that scene went down last night. And the tea that the audience knows, but Candiace, Gizelle, Robyn, and Wendy do not...very clever, what a twist, and it was like the producers went out of their way to expose ALL OF THEM. It just made me think of your comments at the Sig and See when Karen just sat back and observe, but there was so much going on in her looks. Given last night's look and her dropping that tea on the audience, I wanted your take on La Dame for sure.

I want to say the fact that Karen had this knowledge, but did not tell them is the reason she invited Monique to the Wig party next week. Could it be La Dame even reveal what she knows then, exposing Candiace? Things to make you go hmmmm...?

POTOMAC

Well...since I'm up...lol.

I might have been meh about last week, but that was not the case this week.

 Especially that last five minutes.

As the last international trip for any Housewives pre-Covid, it was much needed right now. And I liked that even with the drama and messy, we got a lot to see. Those rocks. That ocean. The race in the cars...I hollered at the Ashley Cam!!! It was nice to see them HAVE fun. Production might have paid for the trip, but if it was Ashley's idea for all the events...I wouldn't mind travelling with Ashley. She plans well.

Speaking of Ashley, we knew it was coming. We knew she would have to tell Candiace the truth about her writing the statement for Monique. Was it for revenge? Hmmm...funnily enough I would say no. She was reluctant to be mend fences with Candiace at the start of the season and already expressed then why she was. It was not until Candiace took some accountability and apologized the right way that Ashley gave her a chance. So I sincerely believed she did it because Monique is her closer friend and had a lot to lose vs Candiace. No brainer.

But it was the end for me. All this yelling. All of these folded napkins to the corner of her eye. All of those darn post-it notes. All of that and her playing the victim to the hilt. And all of it? AN ACT. La Dame gave us the tea and the producers backed it up by showing the statement that Candiace WROTE where she admitted to throwing...my bad 'releasing' the wine. Eagle eyes will see the sentence above that where Candiace wrote she grabbed Monique's vest that night. But...everyone continue to pick on Monique for not owning her side of things when she has. But Candiace definitely has not to the group, choosing to play victim when she in her own words are anything but.

And she wonders why Monique got the invite next week. Hm.

ASHLEY. You come a long way, girl. And as was pointed out to her last week, she was a pot stirrer. But this whole fight and season is showing that while that part of her is still in there, it has been softened, giving way to motherhood. She did what she thought was right. And OWNED it. I did not like that the other girls wanted to make it about 'assassinating' Candiace's character. Uh...NO. She was asked to give a character study on someone who has a history of having a violent temper, a mouth, and how said someone used both on her. Speaking from personal experience. It is not Ashley's fault there are receipts to back it up. As a mother, she understood especially now what Monique could lose by going to jail. She did the right thing.

GIZELLE. I can not begin to tell you how many times I said SHUT UP, GIZELLE last night. Seriously, bitter, bitter, bitter. Rather than focus on her life, she is too busy trying to mess up others. I did not like how she was winding up Candiace against Karen. I don't even know why when Candiace has proven she cannot be controlled. Gizelle is going to cause another mess.

ROBYN. Suuuuure likes to be dragged by La Dame. I was DEAD at 'you dressed like a whore on a street corner, but I didn't say it.' You are outmatched and need to focus on the IRS.

WENDY. Should I just call you Teddi and call it a day, I mean really?

CANDIACE. So all this time. All this time. She had been talking about anxiety pills...but wait...aren't you drinking? And is that not a no-no? Saying that, I couldn't help but wonder...(c)Carrie Bradshaw was anything real about Candiace? Or was it just an act to show to the court against Monique? If one has to question if anything about one was real, then probably nothing was. From the napkins to the mirror notes to saying how you are traumatized when you are grabbing vests...AND WRITING ABOUT IT IN A LEGAL DOCUMENT? From where I sat, La Dame just blew her out of the water...and she does not even know it. Yet. What made it sad...was she could have stopped all of this earlier. How? Owning her part. Maybe talking it out with Monique. Apparently Dr. Wendy and the Green Eyed Bandits would have her back. NOW? They might see her (okay not Wendy) would see her as a loose cannon and cut her loose before the new season starts filming in January/February allegedly.

KAREN. I saved the best for last. La Dame was on fire last night. We got to see her look great and getting along with Ray. We saw her having fun. And she was unbothered at these bandits coming from her, getting them together with ease, and that was when she gave them any attention at all. But the coup d'etat was the reveal. Oooooh that reveal. Last night revealed how much La Dame had Candiace back this whole time. We the audience knew she was being neutral supporting Monique. But people were thinking she was not supporting Candiace even though she checked with her as well. But wait!!! As she sat back while Candiace went on her victim tour what no one knew was that she had an IMPORTANT piece of information. An important piece of information that could change everything or expose a few people most importantly Candiace herself. But does La Dame use it? No. Why? More than likely because Candiace is her friend and she was trusting her friend would evenly do the right thing and take some accountability for her own part in the fight. La Dame even sat back for weeks and let herself be attacked by said friend as well as the other girls knowing she knew what was in that statement. And what does the friend she covered for do? Own it? NO. Candiace has done NOTHING. Which shows the other part of the reveal...the girls don't know, but the AUDIENCE now does. And that brings us to the second part of the reveal...we see you. We see Candiace for who she is. and that...is far from innocent. But what does one expect, but comeuppance when one decides to come for the Queen...

And that promo next week...well...this episode lit the match...and now the stage was set...for Monique to return...hmmm...is it chess we are playing...?

Wow. You responded quickly! How could I forget Ashley? The age list should read like this:

Karen - 57

Gizelle - 50

Robyn - 41

Monique - 37

Wendy - 36

Candiace - 33

Ashley - 32

I always get lowkey surprised at these age lists; I don't think they really matter. Like, Wendy looks older than 36. Also, despite the age difference (or maybe because of), the Karen-Ashley antagonist chemistry is still the best and has been since Day One. These two will never be friends -- too much water under the bridge. But they both went through a season of reckoning (Karen in S3 and Ashley in S4). Both came out the other side stronger. Both of them respect each other to an extent, and on this Mo-Cand fight, both are in agreement: the two women were in the wrong to varying degrees, and Candiace should not pushing for jail time.

You ask for a take on Karen. So, Karen will be accused of 'plotting' against Candiace now that she has revealed that Monique showed her Candiace's deposition. I don't think Karen is plotting, though. I *DO* think she is 3 steps ahead of everybody because she has to be. She doesn't trust these women, especially Gizelle. She knows the covenly ones are always strategizing against her, and wants to be ready for it. She did not pull out that tidbit about Candiace "releasing the glass" until the women began ganging up against her. Most of all, Karen won't be told what to do or who to like.

Same thing with Ashley. Ashley straight up went to Gizelle and Robyn and told them about the letter. Told them they could tell Candiace, and she didn't care. Told them she was Monique's friend, period. She knows they are the source of the trouble and just laid it all out on the table.

I honestly though La Dame was going to say "I saw something in the fight that you all didn't see.... and that was Gizelle pushing Monique on her collarbone and then stepping back like she did nothing." When is somebody going to talk about that?

What do you think Karen knows about them? That Gizelle, Robyn, Charrisse and Candiace all got together BH-styles to plot taking down Monique, and Candiace told them the affair rumor was not going to cut it?

See the ganging up on Karen, it gave me shades of 'LVP and Kyle' and how she always kept being mad at Kyle cuz while LVP usually had Kyle's back, Kyle never took the opportunity when someone attacked LVP to have her back. Karen could easily had dropped the bombshell on those girls, but she was showing her loyalty to Candiace as a friend by not doing so, hoping that Candiace just might do it herself. Candiace didn't. I found that sadly telling.

I am wondering when or if the Gizelle push is going to come into play. There's a reason that so many online people have pointed it out. Only the Eagle-Eyeds mentioned the vest grab and at the time, people did not believe them. NOW that Candiace 'confessed' I do wonder how that will fall. More reason for next week to get here cuz I want to see what La Dame plans to do with that information. I know...so soapy. lol.

Honestly, I feel like the Gizelle push will not come up until the reunion. If it does come up before...I will be surprised. But I know there was rumors about unseen footage from the fight so I also wonder when that will come into play.

The fight might be draining, but the fact that new angles have continued to come out around it has been refreshing. BH, take note.

TBF, I do believe La Dame knows everything. She was the one to warn Monique of the dinner and that was because Candiace ran to her if I remember correctly for advice.

ETA: One thing that I have loved about the Portugal trip (besides the scenery porn and men) has been seeing how far the Ashley/Karen dynamic has come. You are right. It has been one of the best. Or like I said before a more mature version of their Season 1 relationship which I saw the marathon on Bravo.

IKR? I REALLY wanted to like Wendy but the fact that she came on as Candiace's friend and feuding with Karen made me knew that would be an uphill battle. I tried but cant with her despite us having similar backgrounds.

The Green-Eyed monsters are the absolute worse. Robyn was becoming more likeable this season but she is back in Gizelle's ass where she loves to stay. Candiace....I cant with her victim routine and acting like she has PTSD, and is so traumatized despite also being responsible for the altercation. She is not the first nor the last person to get into a fight on reality tv but most dont drag it out the way she has. Its usually a one and done thing in the aftermath with the cast moving on. It continues to be an issue bc of her.

Karen is having one of her best season, if not best, so I have to roll my eyes at the attempts to bring her down. She's handled herself quite well and I have to side with her against the bitches I mentioned above

RHOD

Hm. Bravo apparently has pushed back the trailer due to 'not enough hype' around it supposingly. Which really means this is going to be another promo mess like that one time with RHOA and NJ was it. NJ came out one week and RHOA promo almost got pushed until fans got livid and then it got released. Or the recent RHOA promo that almost got pushed. What is up with Bravo?

The juicy thing with this news...it looked like Bravo didn't tell the majority of their online sources so someone DID drop it (tweet has been deleted since then) and it looks like the fifth season was going to start on New Year's Eve?

Really?

I don’t even recognize Ashley in that photo. I was like, who’s that brown-skinned, heavy-set woman? Did Heavenly join the cast of RHOP? Ashley is just pregnant and in shadows.

Why is Robyn on that side? And I suppose Candiace didn’t want to sit close to Monique, but usually those with the most drama have the seats next to Andy. But I suppose you could argue that the Karen/Gizelle feud was underpinning the whole season, even beyond Monique/Candiace.

Oh, yeah...I've been surprised at how big Ashley is for this pregnancy  versus Dean. And it's another boy, too. lol. Good for her.

Wow. That was fast.

I like that seating chart better.  Makes one wonder if Robyn changed her mind.

I think that's Gizelle with Candiace and Wendy.

I think it has more to do with me like the conqueror dress Karen is wearing. I hope it looks great on camera.

Unless Kathy truly intends to give Ex Soap Star the takedown she deserves, I will definitely be missing the looks Dorit keep giving. Le sigh.

    • They didn't need to have some slutty gay dude as their representation. Just a 'normal' guy getting involved with another guy or two (or three). Just like the straight characters. Thinking about it, they missed the boat by not having a few other single charcters at the beginning. Maybe Naomi or Ashley could be shown meeting Derek/Jacob and  we could follow their romance. Too many characters were coupled up at the start. As a tattoo hater I was surprised to see Tomas so inked. Don't find it attractive or sexy. I'm surprised an actor would do that as it's definitely a statement and may not be appropriate for some roles. Suppose they can cover if necessary. I didn't buy Kat being all girly and then paying off Darius to get into Eva's room. Way too cliche. She should have just come along when the housekeeping was leaving and breezed in saying it was her room. And her smug looks in the hotel room and 'Now I've got you!!' talks to herself at Orphey Gene's...no.

    • I thought it got stale before Jocks death lol. His death picked things back up for me.
    • 1976 Pt 5 Tony is summoned to the reading of the will in the Llanfair library,as he’s a principal in the will. He tells Joe there’s not a chance of coming to terms with Dorian, as he is sure she brought about Victor’s death by torturing him emotionally when he was her helpless prisoner after his stroke. Ironically, Chapin hand delivers to Viki a letter her father wrote before his stroke, praising Dorian and asking Viki to befriend and support his widow when he was no longer there. Viki feels a responsibility to her father’s wishes and vows to try with Dorian. Victor’s will leaves the expected amounts to members of his family and staff, with the lion’s share of his stock and property going to Dorian. Victor’s will explains that his son Tony expressed the desire that he not be “bought from the grave,” and, in keeping with his son’s wishes, the only bequest to him is the knowledge of his father’s love and respect. Tony is deeply moved. Dorian’s first attempt to use her new power is the recommendation of Peter as head of the Merideth Lord Wolek hospital wing, claiming that naming Larry would be virtual nepotism. Peter, who has devoted considerable time and effort to helping Jenny get over Tim’s death with gentle, affectionate support, is happy at this suggestion, but Jenny points out Dorian is merely using him to hurt Larry. Viki disregards Dorian’s ingenuous assurances that she’s not trying to wield her new power but is merely putting Peter up for consideration for a future opportunity, if not this one, and tells her she won’t be able to fulfill her father’s desire that they be friends unless Dorian stops interfering. Larry, fully understanding Dorian’s personal motives, warns her he’s going to fight for the appointment no matter what. Realizing that she has made a tactical error, Dorian announces that she won’t even attend the board meeting but will give her proxy to Jim. She admits to Matt McAllister, still her confidant, that this was humiliating, but it was a necessary protective tactic. Dorian manages to win her next round at Joe’s office when, after he praises her decision to yield on appointing Peter, she expresses concern for Viki “at a time like this.” Joe, of course, jumps on her words, and Dorian, pretending great distress at having mentioned something she shouldn’t have, is “forced” to explain that she knew about the congenital heart condition Megan had and that any child of Joe’s is likely to inherit it. She overheard the doctors discussing it at the time of the accident, she continues, and naturally assumed that Joe already knew.  Joe arranges a meeting at home with Viki and asks her how she could live a lie like this; how she could go through their lives as if everything were fine while every moment was a lie. He is further upset when, in trying to explain that it was out of her love for him that she kept the truth from him, she mentions that Jim and Larry also know but Cathy still hasn’t been told. Viki tells Joe that Dorian deliberately told him this way to hurt their marriage, and she is very upset when he starts toward the door, pleading that they have always talked things out in the past. Joe coolly points out that she didn’t do that when she learned about Megan and continues out the door.  A tearful Viki is shaken and when Joe later returns, having spent several hours in a bar drinking only soft drinks, she breaks down, crying that she was convinced he’d left her. Joe assures her they can get through this despite everything, because their relation is based on love and mutual respect.
    • If you think about it, DALLAS and DYNASTY grew stale right about the same time, even if the ratings were slow to reflect that.  FC and KL, on the other hand, tried to stay fresh, but KL was way more successful at it, I think, than FC.  (That [!@#$%^&*] with The Thirteen does not hold up well, lol).
