Totally the end of an era. I absolutely hate that the final image of Vicki is this last reunion where she showed her ass. I still maintain that she she should've stayed and that they did her dirty this past season when she was the focal point and still was a friend. It was bullshi.t.

Vicki did herself in. She might have pulled a Luann if it hadn't been for her reunion performance. I didn't miss her this season when she was m.i.a. and it was obvious that she was so desperate to get back on the show that it was like watching an older version of Brandi during her last season.

On an unrelated note to Vicki's departure, I binged the whole Lydia/Peggy S. season. It went downhill quickly. I enjoyed Peggy for the most part, but then Ireland happened, and I have no idea what Peggy was doing or why she was acting certain ways. It was so bizarre to me--the whole recording Meghan's baby crying was creepy. I wish Peggy had been given a second season though because I thought Diko was one of the best husbands. Shannon was a nightmare the whole season (as she always is), and I was thrilled that Lydia and Peggy didn't put up with it. Kelly was tame that season. She was the voice of reason. Vicki didn't do much this season, and could have been made a Friend of that season as well.

Vicki leaving the OC might breathe new life into the show. If they are gonna scrap Vicki, I say go all out and get rid of a huge portion of the cast too. Start fresh. It might be the thing that saves this show.

If only this same production company would do the same to their other housewife show, BH...

I came on here to post something else,  but wow. I am shocked at the Vicki news. I assumed she would basically do this show for free!@Antoyne I agree that if she hadn't showed out at reunion and just patiently sat back, she would have been asked back next season with an orange. I too am sad the last memory we have of her is her losing her [!@#$%^&*] behind the scenes and wasting her venom on BrownWind (of all people) in a homophobic rant. She was more than just those final minutes. She really WAS the OC for 15 years. No matter how much Tamra schemes, she will never be associated with this franchise in the same way.

Apparently it's been Brown Wind whose been filming with the prospective housewives as filming tests.

Shannon, I think, has storyline left in her and because she's always let it all hang out, she deserves to stay and would be a good bridge from the original housewives to the new.

They honestly have to keep Shannon. The show can’t just be about crazy Kelly and Boring Wind.

I’m really in shock over this. This is even bigger than the NYC purge in season 5, as Vicki and Tamra have crazy longevity and are part of the identity of RHOC.

Tamra gave comment to PEOPLE magazine, saying she was offered to return in a limited capacity, and declined. Twitter is saying the "limited capacity" was the first 3 episodes of Season 15 to wrap up her storyline. She could have left with dignity like Jeana Keough so memorably did midway through a season...but no.

She's also apparently unfollowed everyone except Vicki. That she unfollowed Shannon bodes well for her.

    • Hotel was The Love Boat on land but a little soapier. I will forever maintain that Hotel was a time slot hit. I don't believe that 1983/84 Hotel was a better show than Knots Landing.

    • The timing is strange, though. How far in advance would they normally be on location? The Achille Lauro hijacking was on October 7, 1985. Nancy had arrived in Egypt in the storyline by October 18. But the character of Hawk, Chris' Native American friend from Arizona, had already appeared onscreen by September and brought a letter telling Chris to be in Egypt by October 25th.  Why did they already have the link to Arizona before the reason to cancel the shoot in Egypt?  The dust and the jar it came in were from Egypt though. Nancy bought it there and sent it to Mac as a gift before she came back to the states and followed Chris to Arizona.
    • Actually that is not what happened. Nor is the timing right for it to have been. We learned from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay  in 2006, which can be found on YT, that it was Fred Silverman's idea to do the 90 minute show. I don't know how much you know about him but he had these amazing successes as head of daytime at both ABC & at CBS. Then he came to NBC where basically everything he touched turned NOT TO GOLD but to shite. Some of the most expensive shows ever produced up to that time were huge flops. Although even he, like a broken clock, could be right on occasion. However, as we know, he was not right about the 90 minute show. As a matter of fact, afterward,  NBC programmers, who worked FOR him, were asked why they did it & they were quoted as saying it was because they couldn't think of anything else to try. It was a stupid idea from a man who had reached the point where he was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking
