There was all this hype but everything big that happens isn’t until the end of the damn season. New Jersey and to an extent New York are the only ones that got it right recently. OC was awful, Atlanta has been a snooze minus like one episode, and BH is boring me already with the Erika love though tonight looks to be interesting with Dorit being obnoxious towards Camille.

Oc's best years were when the seasons were shorter...and it was a mix of fun and drama.  Until season 10...it was somewhat toxic yet fun.  As long as Vicki and t amra remain..the show won't ever evolve.

NJ is smart having Siggy go bye bye...she was loco.  Would you say she was as loco as Kelly benisomon?

At least we still have Potomac and Dallas.

 Both had great season twos.

With Camille getting talking heads again and being around more...she ain't the one you want, Dorit.

For me:

OC--didn't like it at all.

NYC--was light, but fun and LuAnn was love.

ATL--I suspect it will be uneven now, but I'm liking it. Even a boring episode has some funny moments.

NJ--I've lost track, but I've actually been enjoying it now that I've met THE Danielle.

BH--Yep. I am finding it dull so far as well.

Totally. The PSA apart, the show feels contrived, disconnected and with no heart. No one's heart seems in it this year.

For me, i would say Dallas was the revelation last year.

NY -- the true-blue relationships between the ladies make this show my fave (and yes Luann and Dorinda are love!)

OC -- horrendous. Cancellation worthy.

NJ -- better than the last 2 seasons but... does anyone here miss Caroline Manzo? The show lost something when she left which it has never recovered.

ATL -- missing its old magic. It feels a little lost and scripted and by numbers.

BH -- looks like a carbon copy of last season. And that was not a vintage year.

Btw Yolanda Hadid's new show Making the Model starts on Thursday. Just an fyi.

I don't think that BH, OC, or ATL won't improve until they chop the episodes down like NJ. All the shows better follow suit of Dallas and Potomac and go back to 12 episodes at the most.

But speaking of NJ, they do need to bring Caroline and Jacqueline now. Why? B/c of Danielle. I'd love to see them square off with Danielle and Tre. It'd be EPIC.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
    • Of course!

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
    •   @jmgaw did not refer to Luke and Laura. Throughout 78 GH's ratings continued to rise as AW's fell. That turnaround was getting a lot of attention in the soap press with Scotty/Laura, Rick/Leslie/Monica etc . So the 90 min decision was a reaction to that. I guess the thinking was that 60 min expansion had worked so starting AW a half hour before might keep viewers from switching to GH at 3pm. I don't think anybody really thought it would work. The most sensible solution would have been to expand The Doctors and hope for a GH like turnaround, but for reasons unknown TD never went to an hour.
