Well, you handle your biz, Kenya.

Now that I've watched the episode, it doesn't look like Kenya charged either.

I don't think I can say much else that hasn't been said already. I know that if some guy grabbed for my neck, I would fight back to. And I don't find Kenya in the wrong for this. Though yes, she could have called. At least she explained, though it did fall on deaf ears.

Peter is full of it. The way Apollo shoved Brandon to the ground, the simple shock of that and trying to get up from that position is enough to cause him to accidently hit Apollo. He didn't do a damn thing wrong. The entire way Apollo handled it was wrong from beginning to end. Why can't they accept and own up to that? I don't understand why they're still trying to lay blame on Brandon for that.

What she hasn’t learned yet is that the higher a monkey climbs, the more it shows its ass.

laugh.png That line is everything. Kenya SLAYED Nene with that one

I also love that she called Natalie out on coming into the group so she could trash Todd's past. That was so shady and trying to cause conflict with Kandi, whom you dont know is wrong, especially since she had no reason to do that other than being thirsty for a spot. Natalie was upset bc she got shut down quickly and her plot failed.

IA, if any of the other women got grabbed like that, any of those men would jump in to defend their wives

I will disagree with her on one thing. Apollo's not crazy. He's just stupid

I dont think she comes across as shady.

Lisa isnt her real friend and Lisa has shown that. Yolanda put it out there and was honest. She didnt attack her or bash it. She though she had Lisa as a close personal friend, and Lisa showed her that it isnt the case.

When someone loses all their friends, as we have seen with Lisa, sometimes they are the problem. I dont think shes a bad person, but i do not think she is a wonderful, kind, selfless woman like she portrays either. She tends to befriend people that are, as she sees them, less than her. She likes the attention, the fawning, the love and adoration. She does talk down to people but i do not think its something she does on purpose. I think it is just part of who she is, and she isnt malicious, but i can see how its frustrating and annoying and how it can make ppl turn on her.

I highly doubt it was this once issue. And as Yolanda said, they are ALL busy women with commitments. Lisa tried to downplay her blowing it off as if Yolanda hadnt given her a real plan/set time when clearly everyone else got the message.

Brandi and Lisa are 100% safe unless they can get out and want to go. Thats it.

I do think Yolanda and Joyces return is pretty solid.

Kyle i can see either way, i think the show wants her but not Kim and that ball is in her court.

Carlton and Kim should be gone.

I LOVE THIS WOMAN!

Yup!

kenya has brought it this season. She has been fun, entertaining, she has caused drama, gave great lines. She is everything. She isnt trying too hard either finally and its very refreshing. She and Kandi keep me watching for sure. I do finally like Cynthia this season too.

Yup.

Plus they both give her plenty to work with.

Kyle shouldnt be talking about religion honestly. it just isnt something you do unless you are close with a person. carlton likely gets a lot of [!@#$%^&*] for her views and when someone brings it up she gets defensive. Kyle is just dumb. We saw how fake she was this week when after going HARD on her jewish story she asks if carltons tatto is a jewish star when they truly do not look alike.

Joyce came in and went at brandi. Brandi gave her PLENTY to run with and go in on, no lie, but i think carlton saw what she was doing and she didnt like it.

I think she just hates them and sees how fake they both are. Its part of the reason she can get to them with such few words too, She doesnt play into their games.

She is! I would love her full-time but I also love her in the background & I would love to just see her on more because she always has great commentary lol

I forgot we both loved Kandi, too. She is fab!

Thanks! Yeah, I would love if she was a HW but I am happy just having her on as a friend, too. She's hilarious.

    • Perhaps. But would anyone have wanted The Doctors to turn into what General Hospital ultimately became?  Dear God in Heaven...
    • Thanks @EricMontreal22 that must be one of the last issues. Probably the best soap magazine.
    • I can definitely see that airing the same week as The Love Boat colliding with an iceberg and sinking while crossing the North Atlantic on the Titanic anniversary with a “Who lives and dies?!” Promo next to Mr Belvedere being blackmailed over his wanted fugitive status back in the UK

Agree with you both. I am also going assume that while Hotel may had some big numbers the first 2 seasons BUT the demographics weren’t great. Reason I say this is I distinctly remember my parents watching St Elsewhere and/or The Equalizer after Dynasty.    I still don’t get Hotel’s designation as a primetime soap opera either lol. ABC should have aired Paper Dolls in the 10/9 slot on Wednesdays in the fall of 1984 to give that show some more legs.    Obviously ABC was eyeing a double bill night in the same vein as Dallas & Falcon Crest and that might have worked better than leaving Paper Dolls to the wolves in an untested timeslot.
    • I tend to stay out of EP discussions, simply because I rarely know who EPs when. And they all have their good and bad sides. But how are we supposed to judge JFP on anything other than what we see? I didn't know she was a director or a music director. (and unlike say, Chris Goutman, I never saw her credited as anything other than an EP) Specifically in the matter of casting Crampton, she took credit for it (or at Crampton gave her credit for it, whatever) and it was arguably, one of the worst recasts of the '90's (and either as bad or worse than the actress she fired).  She lost two important actresses in '92 and still decided to kill Maureen.  She had a wildly uneven tenure at GL. It's no wonder she's polarizing. But it kind of proves a point--great soap is always a that rare combination of everything clicking at the same time.  And believe me, if I could bring myself to watch her male successors who were responsible for bringing back Reva and allowing her to eat the show again, or hiring Hunt Block, or being too chicken to stand up to stans who and hamstrung the show with boring couples stuck in the same repetitive stories (Vanessa/Matt, Chelle/Danny or Richard/Cassie, take your pick) not to mention San CristoHELL....I'd be more than happy to roast them on open spits. I guess we end up talking about JFP because she's in a period we can nominally agree was one of the last "best" periods of the show.
    • A degree does not make one an expert at their job, it just shows that you can follow directions from a technical standpoint.  It doesn't mean that they're creative. JFP was all about the look of a show without considering that technical beauty can only carry a show so far if there is nothing interesting to go along with it.  Equality means calling out flaws equally in both genders.
    • NBC or P&G was even fool enough to take a full page ad for two consecutive weeks in TV Guide promoting this horrible storyline.

    • JFP has had more defense for her decades of terrible producing than many male producers ever had.
    • It makes sense that she got a degree in directing. I've always said she should have been a director. I think she works better at the technical aspects of the show. I think her problem is the emotion/heart of a show.  She always guts the heart of the show she's on and she makes decisions that stop longtime viewers from watching a show. I don't think it's sexism to call that out especially as I've said similar things about Conboy. I've called out Rauch for much worse.
    • "Aunt Blanche" first appears toward the end of this episode, about 57 minutes in.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
