Characters who were trashed to prop up a couple

Ryan's Hope:

Delia went under the bus over and over when it was time to make us root for one of Frank's relationships. Frank/Jill, Frank/Faith (yuk), Frank/Jill again. And even Roger/EJ (Elizabeth Jane). I didn't mind some of the times they used her as a wedge, like with Pat/Faith the first time around, but some of these were insulting and extremely lazy writing.

Seneca was never a hero but he was a complex and at the core decent man...until they needed to get Jill and Frank back together in 1979, and they had Seneca get Jill drunk and try to force himself on her so she would get pregnant.

GH frickin *OWNS* this thread. AJ, Zander and Stefan come to mind. Especially AJ, GH's perpetual whipping boy, who was trashed twice to prop up the show-killing double-act of Sonny & Carly and the deathly Jason & Courtney.

Honestly can remmeber much about that Bobbie/Roy/Melissa story bc it was otal snoozeville.

For Rafe and Alison, Ill add Livvie. She was a pretty decent person but once Superstition rolled, she became an evil bitch, for the rest of the series to act as the main villian who caused them problems. Made no sense considering Ali was her best friend and there was no motivation for this change

*Anything remotely Zendull/Ryan related was trashed so that the uninteresting cuckold brute and his whore of a wife could be front and center 9 days a week! And Frons' boner for anything Ryan Lavery means that no matter what, Ryan has to look good, so we trash anyone w/in a .000000222521 radius.

*Jason/Lizzard

Don't get me started. Jamal played by the far more talented Kiko Ellsworth was kicked in the teeth for that boring ass Allison/Rafe pairing. Ali was so annoying. Only being with Jamal made her tolerable. They were a great couple. I was looking for some YT clips, but didn't find any.

I don't know what the hell those people were thinking.

On ATWT, I hated how Scott Bryce's Craig and Rosanna were trashed to prop up another round of Paul and Meg. Paul was using Rosanna to try and get Craig, but ended up being the "bad guy" who switched the paternity test results. Then Craig considered poisoning Meg when he learned the baby wasn't his.

    • Yeah, not sure why Jack and Jen didn’t rush to Marlena - or even Carrie - to offer their condolences. A few flashbacks would've been a nice touch too. Instead, we got a whole episode of them talking about Chad and Abby? Come on. On the bright side, I loved Anna’s scenes with Marlena and Carrie - sweet and heartfelt, felt like a real 80s throwback.
    • Martin and Smitty were designed to avoid the stereotype of gay men sleeping around (which to an extent is true). If you recall Martin had a line about them not being open when Chelsea came to talk to him. The producers are walking a very fine line right now and it might not be popular to say but I can understand it. Establishing enough footing to ward off complaints will let them showcase gay characters more openly later.
    • The week was decent. They have started to rotate their stories and finally got a rhythm going. I disagree about them allowing every character to have a moment to shine though. Nicole really hasn't been given anything to do. I completely agree with all this. I adore Doug and hope he makes it through.

    • There was the one appearance in '96, but otherwise, that's correct as far as I know.
    •   It's working fine now.

Question for the B&B group: I see @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded multiple seasons from Videoland  (in the folders that are to be put away). They are huge folders and difficult to download so I started breaking them down into months but I realized they are by season so for example, Season 4 spans from March 1990 to March 1991. Now I'm wondering where to actually place them, since we have the Full Episodes section divided by year, not seasons. And most of these seasons we already have in full, so these are duplicates. Not sure if it's necessary to keep the older versions. I could just make another new section for Seasons, so the main folders would be "Behind the Scenes and Interviews," "Clips," "Full Episodes," "Full Seasons," "Music CDs," and "photo archive Marquise" but I'm not sure that really makes sense. Also wondering since we have almost every full episode now if "Clips" can be deleted in its entirety, as it's nearly 300GB.
    • CBS moving Murder, She Wrote from Sunday to Thursday was straight up sabotage. Les Moonves knew exactly what he was doing.
    • I sure hope you’re right. The lack of sets is maddening!
