Farah Fath declares war on the message boards

Can you imagine if every actor took these things so personally.... there isn't one actor working in soaps right now that hasn't been bashed at least once on a message board if you ask me. Even Jeanne Cooper is getting roasted daily in the Y&R threads

It's insecurity. when I design a landscape... if some stranger or passerby thinks it looks bad, I don't care... I just think they have bad taste. If the CUSTOMER doesn't like it (which never happens) then I would do whatever neccesary to fix it. Fath just doesn't have the skill to fix it.

You usually don't hear Y&R actors complaining about Internet comments, do you? I imagine that set is so nasty and has been for so long (brutal fistfights on set!), the boards must seem fun in comparison.

Pretty much.

Very true  That's what happens when you work on the #1 show for decades..... a sense of entitlement takes a choke hold on you.....

The blog post should have come loooong before the status updates, and that's -- essentially -- where she stepped in dog [!@#$%^&*]. Shooting first and asking questions later is a problem all of us run into somewhere along the line, so I can put the middle finger business in the past where it belongs.

But jeez, just because YOU think you've done this great job doesn't mean that everyone has to agree with you. It sucks, yes, but damn, that's just the way it is. You can't take every criticism of your acting so darn personally. I appreciate that you took it to heart initially and wanted to work at making it better, and I'm glad you feel it got better, but again, not everyone's gonna agree with you, Fath. And again, it sucks, but that's the way it is. Ignoring that part of the fanbase because you've decided it's impossible to please it is soooo not the way to go. Take it in, use it as motivation to keep getting better. If you don't get the praise you want now, maybe you'll get it later or later or later. No matter what, though, giving up on trying to improve will NEVER get you the praise you want.

The old saying rings true: there's always room for improvement.

Exactly.

That's one possibility. I think it could also be a case of typing while impaired or a huge ego coming out to play. Maybe even hurt feelings. I guess we'll never know. I just hope ABC doesn't make her apologize. That would be beyond fake.

Farah:

I'll respect you thinking I'm pathetic if you look it up in the dictionary and see a picture of yourself. You could have completely avoided this brouhaha by being a professional and not saying anything at all.

I don't know what is up with your defensive attitude or your need to "please" people or be well liked by fans, but you need to chill out and realize(as many others have said here) that you have it easy and that there are countless other people who would kill to have your role and would probably be more gracious to their fans and critics. After all, any publicity is good publicity.

You need to be a big girl and grow up. Your younger Days are far behind you, sister. You're one of the leads in a company of people who should be dominating that airtime. Start acting like it instead of blaming other people for your shortcomings as an actress.

<3,

bellcurve

And P.S., Really do something about that hair, love!

PUT ON YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES FATH!

OWN IT OR STFU.

Oh, the drama. What struck me is that FF still thinks that it is okay to publicly call the soap fans pathetic for expressing their opinions about her lack of talent. My advice to FF stands, "don't visit soap boards, if you can't take the criticism." I'll add, "don't insult the consumers of your product publicly."

Indeed.

Better people have been called worse.

She's very young and very, very thin-skinned. She should never have started this but I don't think she's being insincere - just stupid. It's like kicking a dog now.

But yes, Farah, it could be worse, as others have said - you could be Keith Couloris, defender of ladies' honor. That guy was a DOUCHE.

Back when they were together on ATWT, which was also around the time that they were getting together in real life, the ATWT boards roasted them alive. Lesli never said anything, but when Keith was fired, he blamed message boards and I think said something to the extent of "I hope you're happy now."

Since we can get people fired why CK still on Y&R.

To whoever suggested she throw herself in front of a bus earlier in this thread: Get Help. For Real.

Anyway, I think she's the worst actress on daytime but at least she admitted it was dumb to read message boards.

Saying "I'm sorry you're not impressed" and "And you're pathetic for not being impressed" are astronomically different things.

It's clear she was apologizing but still reserving the right to tell the fans who don't like her performance that they are pathetic. Listen, I disagree with most of the criticism directed at her acting. But I still believe that fans have a right to express their critical reviews. This is a part of the territory of a thespian. What would she do if she was in a movie? Tell all of the members of the IMDB message board that they are pathetic if they disliked her performance? If Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren and Sally Fields etc. have to endure their fair share of criticism on a regular basis then Farah Fath will have to accept this as well.

Or worse, what if she was in the theater? And people booed? Would she stop in the middle of the show and tell them to leave? Come on, girlfriend, get yo' stuff together.

It was actually a "moving subway."

And only if you hold my hand in all of my therapist's appointments.
