MTV's latest hit series is closing in on "The Hills" as its best-ever performing reality show on Canadian TV.

The Aug. 26 episode from the trashy paradise of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, drew 486,000 viewers north of the border, according to BBM Canada data.

That made last Thursday's episode of "Jersey Shore" the second-largest audience for a single episode in MTV's history, behind the season-six finale of "The Hills," which drew 605,000 total viewers on July 13.

"Jersey Shore" has also provided the top-rated video for the CTV online network over the last month, and this season has drawn nearly seven million video views on mtv.ca.

In the U.S., more than 5.3 million viewers tuned into the July 29 premiere -- making it the top telecast of 2010 in the 12 to 34 age group, and MTV's second-highest premiere since 2002's "The Osbournes."

The stars can expect a bigger pay day this season. The Hollywood Reporter estimates Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino will earn $5 million this year thanks to his per-episode salary of $60,000 and multiple endorsement deals.

First of all, wow, my hatred for samii grew to new heights, and i used to love her. this pathetic, whinny, annoying, girl... ugh. i cant stand people who want to know the truth, and then deny it. like jwow and snooks were kinda shady in not telling her, but they are a lot closer to ronnie than the show lets on, as shown on the aftershow. byt sami doesnt care that they have been friends with ron longer and are actually close to him, because they are all girls? idiot. and she cant own up to anything, its all im so innocent, poor me, ronnie is shady, the girls are bitches... ahhhhH! total hate.

And according to Tv by the numbers, Jersey Shore hit new highs in EVERYTHING. 6.5 million total viewers, 3.3 in Adults 18-49, 6.0 in Women 18-34, and a 6.7 in the 12-17 demo.

This show is a beast. Im loving it.

There's nothing new about reunion specials, and I hate BTS specials. I thought they were ordering like a 4th season LOL.

Yep. I hope they continue to gain this week, it actually had the best Adult18-49 out of ALL shows on tv, broadcast or cable. Just crazy.
