December 18, 200916 yr Member Oh, can they recast the writing and producing team then too!??!? If someone realizes that this show sucks and is gradually trying to "tweak" it with some gradual phasing out, I don't think it would be a bad thing... Of course things could get worse than they are now on the show (is that even possible?), but it would show someone cared and wanted to "fix" certain things about the show. I know right , recasting the writing and producing team would be terrific but even I sort of don't want that right now because I get the sense that this is more of conflicting agendas going on and that never makes for a good product. I just get the feeling that MAB maybe talking through that hole in her face, but in reality CBS/Sony have felt like they needed to step in somehow because what has been happening on the show for the past year is not working. Leslie never really comes out and talks so vocally and decisively about soaps that much so the fact that he did makes me think that this has gone up the "chain" now and has reached his ears or he is feeling some pressure.
December 18, 200916 yr Member The same time Zimmer arrives as JT's mom. Really, you think they about to hire ex Reva.
December 18, 200916 yr Member Then they better start hiding all the food that's served in the GCAC and Crimson Lights sets.
December 18, 200916 yr Member If Billy is Jack 2.0 does that make Chloe Jill 3.0? I think that was the point early on. Her personality has changed so many times it's become more like Sybil 2.0. All the pointless propping over the past year is Bug 2.0.
December 18, 200916 yr Member Her personality has changed so many times it's become more like Sybil 2.0. The Tea Delgado of Y&R. I think the idiots writing Y&R are writing this show to appeal to fans of other soaps, forgetting the core and loyal audience who watched this show simply because it used to be a very different kind of show. TPTB are writing to suit agendas & to please entitled fanbases. It's been that way since Jack Smith.
December 18, 200916 yr Member How soon before Mary Beth Evans joins as Tucker's jaded ex-wife? This is what I don't want to happen and I sense it coming, I hope the goal is to tie what-ever connections Tucker has to Katherine into the Jill/Katherine drama and we can throw Nina in there where she meshes, but no MBE I think she's great but they don't need to bring in any more women from that age group at least not now. They are already challenged writing for the talents they have Edited December 18, 200916 yr by classicmoment
December 18, 200916 yr Member If Stephen thought the DAYS set was schizophrenic, I can't imagine what his reaction to Y&R will be. Every actor who works on soaps flips channels in his dressing room and every time I landed on Y&R I’d find the acting to be fantastic. I wasn’t laughing at anything. Nothing seemed hokey and stupid. The production values were great. The writing was better than most. And now, on my first day here, I picked up my scripts and could not believe it. There wasn’t one sentence or phrase that was hinky, nothing I felt had to be fixed, and that’s really refreshing. There’s total organization at Y&R. The characters are solid, and the stories are character-driven from what I can tell. And all the actors are exemplary. There isn’t a weak link in the whole bunch and I’ve never done a show where that’s been the case. I take it Stephen hasn't watched Y&R in the past 4-5 years... I can't wait to see him again. And why this man has never put out a fitness video, I don't know. As for MBE, I really like her and she is a good actress and looks amazing, but she's over 50, and that causes a chill to go up the spine of the likes of Rauch or Sheffer. I wouldn't worry about her being hired.

December 18, 200916 yr Member I want to know where he sees "character driven" stories on Y&R, and how he hasn't noticed the lazy and downright bad actors on the show, yet. I look forward to seeing him, but I hate when people kiss the ass of their place of employment, when they don't have to, they can be polite without sounding as if they don't watch the show.
December 18, 200916 yr Member Take it for what it's worth, but Nelson says that Barbara Bloom wanted Stephen Nichols initially and she finally got him...

December 19, 200916 yr Member Take it for what it's worth, but Nelson says that Barbara Bloom wanted Stephen Nichols initially and she finally got him... I believe he is correct...and that makes this viewer very very happy!!
December 19, 200916 yr Member I believe he is correct...and that makes this viewer very very happy!! Yes, Bloom worked with Nichols at GH, so I can buy it. Maybe they're finally showing Maria who the boss is around there!
December 19, 200916 yr Member Maybe they're finally showing Maria who the boss is around there! If "the boss" is Barbara Bloom, then I'd rather Maria lock her out of the studios.
