I know that he doesn't need the money, but it wouldn't surprise me if ABC did a little butt kissing and sweetened the deal, I mean this kind of casting coup is pretty unheard of. Plus agents and managers are always going to be looking out for their clients, they recognize his worth as an A-lister and even if this is a little pet project for him, they're not going to sit by idly and let him be financially "insulted" if you will. Burton and Franco are both managed by James/Levy , but I wonder how Franco's agents over at Endeavor felt about this.

Agents and managers are such butt kissers, they probably volunteered to run lines with him. He makes enough money for them, they have nothing to say. if he tells them he wants to do it, they will go with it. It is clearly a vanity project, supposedly research for some film role, and I doubt this will impact his future earnings.

James Franco is not A-list, so stop that. He's a solid B.

Good distinction. Franco is not an A list movie star. His name does not deliver blockbusters and there are lots people who only recognize him as the "guy from Spiderman." I saw lots of "who is that?" on the soap boards. No one asks that about Tom Cruise or Will Smith or George Clooney. Franco is a low B list movie star. Franco is also not a A list actor, IMO. He is a nice actor, but I can name tons of actors who are better than he is at this stage of his career. He may become very good one day. Right now, I think of him as the "in actor." He gets lot of work and his name has some cachet, but he isn't in the upper echelon league of quality actors as yet.
