ATWT: October Discussion

That Katie vision stuff was a bit overextended. I did think it worked better than expected, and reminded me that in some way, Katie/Brad is the most tolerable Katie pairing has ever been in (I liked Katie/Simon but that went to hell after about a year). Terri Colombino did a good job with the whole labor and aftermath.

Stuart Damon's done a great job these past few days. He sells Ralph as a guy who is somewhat decent but who is also unstable and a coward.

I liked how they tried to tie everything together. The Dusty tie-in was awkward, but at least they tried. I don't care about Teri/Dusty though. The only person I've seen Dusty have chemistry with in recent years is Bonnie. I don't know why that ended. It never even really began.

Liberty having the miscarriage seems like a bit of a copout.

I was shocked to tune into OLTL and see JJ! I always prefered him over Parker because the actor has more range and the character was less annoying. I knew he was joining the cast, but forgot about it. He looked much different, older and he has a better haircut. I'm really excited to see where they take his character. It's a shame ATWT didn't recognize what they had and give him more to do. Parker and Liberty are so isolated. If JJ and Faith were more heavily involved maybe I wouldn't be so irritated by the other two. They're in dire need of friends their own age.

Right now I'm still enjoying ATWT, but becoming annoying with certain things. I hate that in this HW switch they completely dropped the Adam story. Passanante is still around, so things like this shouldn't happen. Is Adam off the show? Does this mean we'll no longer see much of Margo? Plus, why did they waste Maddie in the story with Audrey and Henry? I guess it doesn't matter since maddie is so watered down now.

Although i haven't missed her, I'm finally ready for Carly to return and that's what I'm looking forward to now.

Wow...gotta say I liked today!!!! Another cliffhanger Friday, and special kudos to the PR department for not giving away a HUGE reveal in the previews for next week.

LOL...my Carjack heart FLOVED the nasty turn Janet took, accusing Jack of "not wanting to raise the bastard child of my bastard kid....and the Snyder boys are all off the hook..."...O. M. G! **giggles** What a bitch! I cringed when Jack kowtowed to her, excusing her bullying for the past few months, but for her to say that---WOW. Shows she doesn't know Jack at all. *happy dance* Jacket's going down.... <BEG>

Other than Austin Peck really hamming it it, I found myself affected by Katie's plight. Which is pretty unusual.

I wish Holden would 'do Maeve already and rub it in Lily's face. The latest go-round in the Lilden-mobile was the least interesting plot today---by far.

Wow PJ excited about an ATWT show...shocking news....hehe!!!

I had a feeling today's show would be good including another Friday cliffhange. It is nice that ATWT brought back the Friday cliffhanger again. I'm going to watch the show in a couple of minutes.

I am just liking the fact that Jack will have to deal with what he has done. It helps that I didnt care for the Brad character or Austin Peck. Jack hopefully will now see Carly in a different light. The are rumors she will be on that road trip with him. ATWT sure loves their road trips...lol. At least this isnt a teen road trip. And your Maura is coming around the corner PJ....LOL.

^^^I know...I'm so freakin' excited to get Maura back---I didn't think I'd make it at times!

The one really bad scene today was Peck going nuts at the OPD. So not going to miss him. I read Branco's article today, again pissing and moaning about how this is "ruining" the show. HELLO---how is getting rid of (arguably) your worst actor and creating a HUGE umbrella story out of it, "bad"? The show is more compelling than it's been in quite a while. If Branco bothered to remove his lips from Peck's pecker, he'd see that.

    • I like Margaret well enough in what I've seen of her as Paige - she is green but she has real star power.  I agree about the actor who plays Brian. He's...mostly just there. Not bad but not great.  My main issue is with the guy who plays Owen. He's just not appealing to me. I can believe Nola being obsessed with him, but he's draining to watch.  I'm surprised people objected to the quasi-incest elements as it wasn't anything that new for soaps.  Speaking of Kim, here's a rare episode of an anthology show she did called The Evil Touch.

    •   I get what you're both saying, and I think the show was lucky to have even made it that long, but I think they could have still maintained a certain audience - Second Chances did before the earthquake. CBS was an older network anyway. I think the premise of Knots was still usable, it was more the characters who were a problem - many of the older figures were played out. If the show had done a better job building up its younger cast instead of making so many poor choices in the late '80s and early '90s, they could have kept things going a little longer.
    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
    • Yassss....come on Maurice and Brandon...give us nothing!!! Wow, their need to develop their craft shone like a blinding light this episode. Brandon in his Martin and Smitty scenes sounded like he was reading and the facial expressions were giving Disney Channel. He did much better against Maurice in the Martin v Ted scenes. Now, Teddd-dyy (Dana's voice) was just flat. I watched the episode just now after reading the comment on here that Maurice needs to stop swaying, and now I can't unsee it. Has it really been this bad all along?  Ambyr carries. I don't need to say anymore. I am kind of excited to see this Kat/Tomas/Eva stuff play out.  Bill is such a dick to Dani. Like that's the mother of your children that you cheated on with your daughter's best friend but you look to take those low blows. Lord! When he said that thing about it being obvious he didn't care about Dani anymore since he was the one that walked out...that was cold. I even felt for Dani. Bill definitely is all over the spectrum. You can see a villain possibly surfacing, but you also see this great father. The elder Duprees move a little funny. I'm wondering what that is all about. Are they just overly protective matriarch and patriarch because they think it's what's best for their family, or are they afraid their secrets will come out or there's something more sinister there. Why would Vernon want to keep that information from Martin?  I hope something interesting comes out of this June stuff, but as of right now, I'm not too invested. It's not helping my interest on Naomi or Jacob either. However, tge actress playing Naomi has comes a long way from day one.
