In case it is of interest to anyone I have found a resource for earlier than 1996 weekly recaps. They're scans of Digest. https://www.tumblr.com/classicsodgl

Thanks. Also, there are 1993-1998 recaps here. https://www.anybrowser.org/soaps/archives/gl.html

So it seems that 1991-1993 is largely missing. Would love to find some 80s/early 90s daily recaps.

Looks like the yahoo rec.arts.tv.soaps group is still archived for the most part but it's a bit of a pain to dig through. They do have some recap threads dating back to the early 90s.

Yes, I think the site I posted is actually a compilation of those, and it's very convenient not having to do keyword and date searches.

What I am looking at is 1990 & 1991, but it is scans of SOD recaps so twice a month.

Yep, the SOD ones are great but I was talking about daily ones. Some of them get very detailed and go scene by scene, which I love. But I do enjoy SODs very much too.

I would prefer daily but I have not found any for GL 90/91.

Matt Bomer briefly talks about his run on GL after receiving The Hollywood Reporter's Trailblazers Award.

Complete Article: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/matt-bomer-interview-ryan-murphy-bradley-cooper-career-scad-tvfest-1235819552/

In lighter moments, Bomer reflected on humbling milestones he experienced as an aspiring actor, from his first role as a background artist at age 12 in the 1992 Chuck Norris movie Sidekicks (“If that’s not an origin story, then what is?” he wondered, laughing) to a three-year run as a regular on both All My Children and Guiding Light in New York in the early 2000s.

His appraisal of those gigs was tinged with equal parts appreciation (“It felt like going to grad school”) and unbridled amusement.

“My Guiding Light character was a trust-fund baby who bet his fraternity brothers he’d be the first to deflower the town virgin … then he lost his trust fund and turned to the only life that someone can when they lose their trust fund: sex work. Then he went crazy and killed five people,” Bomer said, laughing along with the crowd inside the newly minted SCADShow theater. “Some days I’d have 30 pages of dialogue, ya’ll!”

It's sad to see how much those awful stories for Ben have just left him as a laughingstock. Such a waste.

Both Alina Adams & Melissa Scardaville interviewed him & can't say enough good things about him.

Whatever happened to Robert Dwyer?  Were he and Robert Cessna, who wrote for THE DOCTORS during Marland's term there, one and the same?

Script teaser from Douglas Marland’s GL Emmy winning episode submission. This script won the Emmy.

Am I correct to assume that GL was recording episodes one week before they aired back in 1980? Was this common practice or am I misunderstanding?

Did Wendy Moniz’s Dinah ever slap anyone?

She did tell Reva to "Oh just shut UP!" and that counts in my book!

It's weird that Laibson was Associate Producer during Marland's time but he seemed to know nothing about GL on his exec stint.
