GL: September Discussion

LOL... please do! I enjoyed pretty much everything about the ending, even if we were supposed to wonder if Jeffrey was still out there. I chose to believe that Jon wouldn't let his mother move on, possibly remarry Josh if Jeffrey was alive. Woodchipper or not, Jeffrey is long gone in my book.

I always thought there was such a missed opportunity with DAM and Edmund. He would have been such a wonderful interloper for the Spauldings. He and Alex, perhaps a pairing with Beth and India, him versus Alan and Phillip. Damn you John Conboy and Ellen Weston for screwing that up.

If taking off GL and our characters and replacing it with stupid, loud, tacky game show then as a GL 3rd gen and for me GL has been on CBS all my life - so since 9/21 when my CBS took away our GL 'cause of business - then I took my business some where else all last week - this week and will next week and week after that and etc - really miss my GL and all the characters- however I do not miss CBS at all.

Why were Jeanne Cooper and Christian LeBlanc here?

Shane and Marina had a kid together?

Doris is a lesbian? When did that happen and who is that porno looking chick that was by her side?

I'm always interested with people who keep saying they wish GL had gone on, or would be resurrected, etc. How would the show go on, they had no friggen sets???? How can a show go on where only two families have a house set, no one has a work set (even Cedars looked like crap and the "real," sets they used for the formally magnificant Spaulding Enterprises was a joke) the actors had to bring their own clothes in a lot of cases. Who the hell wanted bargain basement GL to go on???

Who was that girl that asked Matt to dance?

The little girl was his daughter Maureen, the adults were his Aunt Nola and sister Bridget.

W

They wanted to be a part of daytime history. I heard they worked for free and had to pay their own way.

Long story short, Shane was in love with this chick named Lana, who just happened to be Edmund's long lost daughter (how is that for a coindence)she was killed in a land mine explosion, but not before she gave birth to a daughter (dont ask, it didnt make sense.) Mallet and Marina (yes, I know he looks like her pervy uncle but they got married) just happened to illegally adopt the kid from an orphanage..(well, Minnie Mouse didnt know it was illegal, Dinah had her hand in that, but Marina did plant drugs on a social worker to keep it quiet.) Mallet left town on finding Shane was the kids real dad.

Just happened a couple of months ago, but it is the only thing Wheeler and Co. did that made sense...(woulda been fun to have found this out when she was blackmailing Alan into marrying her, she needed both a beard and his money to mount her campaign.) The porny looking chick was her girlfriend and it was the first we saw of her....(another dont ask, Doris went to such great lengths to cover her gayness that she was seen in public at a gay bar, in this podunk little town, even though she is mayor, and went to Billy and Van's wedding with her girlfriend...and just why was she invited to the wedding anyway? I know the fruitcake Otalia maniacs will want my head for actually saying anything against the BEST LOVE STORY OF ALL TIME!!!

Natalia was preggers, but the actress had just given birth, and the brainiacs at GL didnt have the character become preggers until after the actress delivered. She actually looked much more preggers before, and yes, they made no attempt to hide it, the new production process and the budget wouldnt let them. The Lizzie actress actually is preggers and again, it was glaringly obvious and it was distracting from Wheeler's much vaunted "reality."

Shane,

Why did people want GL to go on? I can only speak for me. But I wanted to see what happened next to Bill and Lizzie. I wanted to see more of Billy and Vanessa and Buzz and Lillian. And OF COURSE, I wanted to see what happened to Josh/Reva when Jeffrey came back!

Maybe the show wasn't perfect. But it has given me joy for almost 30 years. And yes, that includes the last few years. Tammy's death? The 70th anniversary show? Josh and Reva's "Always" movie? Otalia? Bill and Lizzie? Phillip coming back?

GL was my show. And I WANTED it to continue. So Shane, take this as a voice of ALL the people who got off the message boards because of people who only wanted to complain. I don't defend everything on the show, but I also certainly don't defend all the haters who are happy with NOTHING! Yikes. I get soaps are on life support. So I am appreciating what they give me. But these people who are still complaining about someone who left the show 20 years ago? It might have been a mistake... but Charita Bauer died. No one called for Bert to be recast. So why are other roles suddenly unable to be recast? I loved Wendy Moniz as Dinah... but I also loved Gina Tognoni.

It's great the internet has connected so many soap fans. Unfortunately, the haters seem to have scared most of the rest of us off. My mother-in-law got personally brutalized - actually posters saying she should die - because she liked Josh/Cassie.

I'm sorry... ANYONE who wishes DEATH to anyone else because they disagree over a soap? THEY NEED SERIOUS THERAPY.
