Members bellcurve Posted September 25, 2009 Members Share Posted September 25, 2009 I have to say that I found a copy of MiMi's Memoirs somewhere deep in the internets... NOT IMPRESSED. Fans of her MiMi/E=MC2 stuff will love this album. But this is not a "throwback" album by any means. The one true ballad on this album is "I Wanna Know What Love Is" and you know how awful that sounds. There are about two or three long, meaningless interludes that could have been left off this album. There is very little passion in these songs and the way she sings them. Even "Up Out My Face" or whatever that song is...could have easily been a club banger. But the production and the whispery way she sings the song just screams of "classic, lazy ass Mariah." I'll have to give this another listen or two before positively deciding how I feel about it. A few tracks from E=MC2 grew on me(i.e. Migrate, Thanx 4 Nothing, I Wish You Well, Love Story), but I don't even consider most of those "real Mariah."
