Wasn't LML groomed before she took over Y&R?

That hack bitch from the depths of hell wasn't 'groomed' at all. She stormed in and fired everyone as soon as she could, aside from Kay Alden who she had to literally harass to the point that she quit. That hack bitch from the depths of hell didn't give a flying damn about history or learning the ropes of the show. She wanted Y&R to be 'hers' and it was for about a year, the very same year her sorry ass was fired!

I am a tad nervous about Dianne Messina Stanley's work, I haven't liked much of it in the past.

I'm hoping the two Y&R writers getting the shaft are Jay Gibson and Amanda Beall. Melissa Salmons has done some great work so I'd hate for the axe to fall on her.

Really, I hope 2009 brings some stability, at least to DAYS and the Bell shows. Creative upheaval is just hell on earth.

I expect this year to be just as busy, just for different soaps. That's the hope at least. I remember doubting great things for Y&R and look at how 2008 turned out. Hopefully this year means improvement on GL, ATWT and AMC in particular. I've given up on any creative changes on GH which is why that show will never recover. Vanessa Marcil or not. It's just to tired and unfocused at this point. People are bored with it. They need a shake up yesterday. Khan's idea of getting Val Jean and Harris as HW with Ed Scott as EP is perfection. The two HWs have tons of GH experience and the EP has a strong visionary sense. I imagine a team like that doing wonders for GH. Unfortunately nothing will ever change on that dreadful show with so much potential.

^Toups and I have been clamoring for a Harris/Val Jean combo at GH for YEARS now. LOL!

Somehow... I don't like the teams.

I like one-person "team". Harris and Jean are too different... Which can be a good thing... But also fatal.

I'm fine with either one, but if I had to choose, I'll lean more heavily towards Val Jean. I think she's by far the best writer on the GH writing team. Harris already got to HW twice (once at PC of course). Val Jean was promoted to HW at a time when GH was in transition, and JFP couldn't wait to replace her and Korte with McTavish.

I was just looking at scenes from 1998 involving Liz's rape and the revisitation of Luke's rape of Laura, and it reinforced to me that it was in fact GH's last truly great storyline. Well, Val Jean was instrumental in that storyline, so much so that Wendy Riche and Guza let her write most of it. I'd love to see what she would do with GH if they allowed her to tell the types of stories she wants to tell.

my biggest wish for 08 would be Tommy C & Sara B to have some kind of control at ANY soap. I know those two get mixed reviews from ppl here, but anyone with that much love and honesty for the genre needs to be in some kind if power with it. im not going to say they will be perfection, but at least they CARE! who else cares? I will say that Ron C at OLTL and MAB at Y&R seem to CARE about the show and the genre. And love or hate what they do, i dont think anyone can deny not only do want whats best for the soap/genre they try to get it.

And i think at this point to deny that network interferance is an issue is just kind of on the stupid side.

oh and Val Jean to become HW at GH with a new EP! and for frons to quit, and for ken corday to step away from having anything to do with days!

Anyway, about something that's not a daydream, let's start an actual discussion for those who saw Lynsey Dufour's first attempt at script writing on AMC this past friday.

I know the whole "too soon to tell" is popping up as you read this, but first impressions, please? It's never "too soon" to have a first impression.

Sure.

P. S. I was actually laughing at the whole "me and Toups" thing. :D:P;)

She wasn't....horrible, but she wasn't great either. I'd give her a C-.
