He announced he had stage 4 lung cancer last year.  His death is not really a surprise. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.

Yeah...I think I missed that news.

Not surprised, but shocked because evil always seems to live forever.

and I still feel, next year when Cruz's seat is up again....that state will still vote him back in. Stephen King blamed Texas republican voters for the plight the state is in.

I don't think his seat is up until 2024 but yeah people have short memories.

Someone will have to remind them then. This situation is made for political ads. Also, it's easy to forget some low level scandals, but do you forget freezing with your kids for days while your [!@#$%^&*] Senator takes his girls to Mexico!? This is personal.

With any luck this is TC's Lee Terry moment. Terry got booted out of congress after bragging about how he had a nice house to pay for and kids in college when asked if he was going to forgo his paycheck during a government shutdown/ budget crisis.  People didn't forget that even after two years, and Nebraskans actually voted in a Democrat.

And I...would have to agree.  I don't like to see anyone suffer under any circumstances, but even as I applaud Beto O'Rourke and others for reaching out and providing badly needed resources like blankets during this crisis, at the same time, I'm also "I told you so"-ing Texans who elected idiots Ted Cruz and Greg Abbott into office.  The polar vortex was not of their making, but Texas' abysmal reaction to the crisis largely was.

It's telling that CPAC announced they are still going to have Cruz speak. Unless he loses a primary in 2024, he's teflon in Texas.

@Khan Now come on.....He said he felt bad as he sat in his chair in the plane. After being caught he finally admitted that it was a long weekend vacation but he came back earlier and only spent two days in Cancun. I'm sure soon he'll finally admit it was his ugly wife decision on the trip as it's being reported. Give him time. He's not use to be honest.😂

Honestly, I would have had more respect for him if he had stayed true to his "Scooby-Doo" villain roots and said, "And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids and your cameraphones!".  True, it would've been an equally bastard-y thing to tell the public.  But it would've been honest.  ;)

Because, if you're gonna do something that'll look bad in the eyes of the public, you might as well invite your friends to join in!
