And just think...these same candidates will be facing off again in the general election!

Call me cynical but imo, many of the very same people screaming against DACA and immigration reform prefer that there is no proper guest worker program and/or path to legalization so that they can continue to exploit undocumented workers, especially seeing that so many are afraid to come forward to report abuses like wage theft and exploitation.

Yeah, I saw the video of her stumbling and flailing for words when asked about Pelosi.  Instead of stumping as if she's running for president, she should have just stayed local and continued to meet with her potential constituents and fellow NYers, that's where her priorities should have been.

She's become a cautionary tale of what happens when a woman and in particular a WOC hitches her wagon to Berners, while the irony is that Sanders never even bothered to endorse her.

I like her and she shows promise. She's not naïve in some sense. She did work for Ted Kennedy at one time. But I wonder if her success went to her head. She NEVER should have let Bernie use her as he did. And he didn't even endorse her.

And the candidates she was stumping for,  were not that far policy wise from the people who won. Sure Whitmer in MI is experienced(a good thing) and some potentially questionable ties to the insurance industry, but she has promised to increase the min wage in Mi to 15/hour, overturn Right to Work in Mi, she was solely responsible for getting Medicaid expansion in Mi with a GOP gov and legislature, she's pushing universal pre-school, and has promised to help Flint. She's hardly an establishment stooge.

And Sharice Davids also left leaning. All she has said was she wanted a healthcare solution but would not commit to Medicare for All. Other than that all her positions were the same as the guy they supported.

I think it's interesting how left so many of these Bernie folks are but were they involved in Missouri getting right to work overturned in Mo. Actions like that will have real impact not stumping and yammering on and on and doing nothing. Michigan activists also got that anti gerrymandering referendum on the ballot in Nov also.

Avenatti is another that needs to stay in his lane.  Don't get a Giuliani complex, thinking you can coast to the presidency based on your prosecutorial/legal reputation.

So this Kavanaugh man looks to have been entrenched in some of the worst aspects of Republican political actions in the late 20th century.  The Kenneth Starr panel and now the team that prepared John Ashcroft on how to handle terrorism detainee issues like racial profiling, monitoring attorney-client conversations and military tribunals.  Apparently Kavanaugh had offered to help on the monitoring of attorney-client conversations issue.  It seems like he has been trying to obscure his involvement in this.

Funny how much Trump bellowed how different he was supposed to be from other Republicans, especially Bush but he can't grab the leftovers from W.'s administration fast enough.

    • So, this was fun. Elsewhere, friendly to polls, a poll on what do you want to see at the Nurses Ball. The Gio reveal got 18%, for Blaze to return & sing also got 18%, for Jennifer Hudson to do a cameo & sing got 10% and for Lucy to lose various parts of clothing got 9% but the huge one was the reveal of Drew/Nina sex which got a whopping 45%!
    •   I liked the effect of the curtains closing. Yeah it was like the end of Act I.   Or maybe they are simply trying to emphasize the drama of the end of an episode -- instead of a random abrupt end that has happened in some prior episodes.
    • I posted this in the behind the scenes thread but I know this thread is busier so wanted to mention it here as well. During their instagram live yesterday, Daphnee Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant mentioned that they will find out this month if the show is renewed for another season. Just a heads up so we can keep an eye out for an announcement and keep our fingers crossed for a multi-year renewal!
    • They haven't explained the ownership of the Bistro, but Doug told Holly the other day he didn't get the job there. Basically Roman just hired Doug on the spot and gave him a room.  It was really nice of Roman.  I don't know if he knows who Doug is or that he stole Julie's necklace.  That was unclear-at least to me.
    • I'm not sure how I felt about it, but I do kind of like that it felt like the show telling us this concludes the first chapter of the series. Could be interesting if they only do it for big aftermath episodes. The biggest mistake with Martin is that it's almost hard to buy his anger because we've gotten no strong scenes with him and his parents. They've all been with Anita/Vernon. I can't even remember him ever even saying one word to Nicole, even in passing.
    •   Thank you! Agreed on both posts. And the comments about Mike Manning are nonsense.
    • I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro?  Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?
    • I think Brandon has gotten better in normal day to day scenes, but he’s very over the top when the character is meant to be angry or agitated. I did laugh when she started yelling at Leslie and then when he started to throw all those damn books, lol. He needs an acting coach to work out some of these kinks.
    • I've never found him as bad as some. I think he's always shined in scenes with Vernon, who should be his father. I also think he has great chemistry with Kat and Dani which I hope they tap into more over time. Dani/Martin feel like such a fun and believable Auntie/Nephew relationship.
