On the one hand, Carl, I agree with you.  But, OTOH, the family Trump is just so outrageous that I think anything, like Ivanka's fantasies of being the first female president, is totally possible.

And we still have Omarosa's book presumably in the works. From the excerpts released it seems like Bannon is not lying if one goes by Trump's behavior. Ivanka's speech at the convention was essentially a laundry list of things that she would want to accomplish as a politician, not her father's plans.

It's not as simple as that, imo.  Think of how awful the people in this administration (past and present) are as a whole.  Anything they say is bound to be some sick mix of lies, exaggeration, mendacity and a sprinkling of truth.  So while I certainly don't take any of what was said as gospel, I do think there is enough truth in it to show us an administration in chaos, led by self-serving imbeciles who hate each other.

And sure, there is a little part of me that is gleeful at their misery and incompetence. The rest of me is terrified both for America and the rest of the world. He has already screwed up a lot of lives with his terrible policies. There are people who will never be made whole even after he's led off in a straight jacket or handcuffs and his policies are reversed.

As for Omarosa, now that is going to be some spilled tea and confirmation of some of what we learned today. I hope she is typing with a quickness.

Frankly, I don't care what Omarosa has to say about anything, in print OR on TV.  I mean, she could reveal (with pictures) that Trump likes to ride through the WH in a toy car, firing off crazy rounds with a shotgun, while screaming, "Death to all the coons and kikes," and I still would not care.

I forgot where I read it (admittedly I only read the headline and skipped the entire article) but I read that Omorosa is having difficulty finding takers (i.e. publishers) for her proposed book.

Not surprised. It's what she deserves.

I will never forget that she once claimed that everyone would be bowing to "a president Trump" during the 2016 election, then promptly cried and whined that her family disowned her after the elections.  That told me all I needed to know about her and I had no interest learning any more.

Like @Khan, I am not here for any words that come out of her mouth, or on paper.

    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
    • Still here ^^ Come on Prime Video, it's due to bring it back!
    • Got through the eighth season, and it was... painful.

    • I agree 100% with both you and Mitch64.  Soaps have been going further and further off-course since 1981. TPTB just don't have a fundamental understanding of what makes soap fans so loyal. I'd love to be on a writing team with both of you.  Maybe we could put together a real soap opera, and show people what its all about...
    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
