Speaking of Tweety-fingers (I prefer that to POTEUS), wasn't he supposed to give a lofty explanation of all the 'things' that he knew that the American public didn't? Wasn't he supposed to give this explanation on "uh, Tuesday or Wednesday"?  Well, it's Thursday now. For what it's worth, I never bought this explanation narrative that was supposed to be forthcoming...allegedly.

I have mixed feelings on this. I do feel that the min wage should be increased proportionally due to inflation. I think right now that is about $12.50 an hour. But I still don't buy that anyone can make a living at 12.50/hour. But was that really what it was intended for? I believe the last set of stats I read from the Labor Dept indicated that over half of people making min wage are under 25 and part time, indicating that perhaps many of them are students and others who don't see minimum wage jobs like those in the food industry as life sustaining jobs, but jobs to help earn supplemental income.

Call your state reps, congress people, and senators. And get others to do the same if you can.

yeah I let Governor Kasich know how I feel on Facebook. He's the who expanded Medicaid in Ohio. My meds out of pocket are about $700 for each and I take 3 of them just for my Interstitial Cystitis

You have IC? So do I. Or at least I did. I haven't had a flare in two years. Those drugs are pricey as hell. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

 

Kasich was just touting his Medicaid expansion yesterday when he signed the opiate bill. He's still standing by it plus, IIRC you're down around the Columbus area right? He actually gives a damn about people in that part of the state.

Wow, I just did a quick google and that condition sounds like it ranges from a lot of discomfort to downright painful. I hope that your plan works out for you. @JaneAusten had some great advice, keep your local politicians accountable and perhaps if there is a community who can back you (maybe others in your state who suffer from the same ailment?) and friends, family to keep e-mailing, writing, calling--staying on top of your state, county legislators can be surprisingly effective if done consistently.  Try not to stress, you have to try to do what you can to maintain your health and constant stress can make things worse (I've discovered this the hard way).

 

 

Not going by what this man says but paying attention to his actions-- I must remind myself to keep doing this.

Yeah I'm in Fairfield County which is like 30 minutes from Columbus. Yeah I have IC. was diagnosed in 2014. I have problems with stress incontinence,, so I think I'm going to have to get a bladder sling put in to help.

I'm glad you haven't had a flare. I don't have a lot of pain, but mine is more the urgency/frequency part. I do DMSO treatments, every so often, cause they seem to help.

By the way, what is the latest on the Senate hacking investigations?  I would watch them on TV, except I think what John McCain and others are doing is an exercise in futility.

Awww thanks. I don't want anyone to think I posted to get sympathy. Just scared I could lose my insurance and I can't afford insurance out of pocket

Yeah I am thankful that Kasich seems to love Ohioan's. I think he will fight to keep the medicaid expansion.

Very interesting article, especially when we reflect on the context surrounding this most recent Presidential election and the demographic narrative it produced.

Few things shock me, as a hard-bitten journalist.

 

But today, I’m in shock.

 

I just watched a video that didn’t just sicken me, it contaminated every pore of my soul with feelings of pure, unadulterated, raw disgust and hatred.

 

The short piece of film I endured depicts a gang of four black teenage thugs, two male, two female, abusing and torturing a poor terrified young white man with special needs.

 

The sheer scale of their depravity appears to know no bounds.
