Good riddance to Ashlee, though I'll miss her crazy ass facial expresions and overall creepiness. Colin's no huge loss either IMO. I just hope the show doesn't turn into the Amanda hour like the original did when Darren Star left, because I like most of the new tenants.

Can someone explain how exactly did the pick Slavkin & Swimmer to run this show? I mean, Smallville and Melrose aren't really alike. Which is why this was doomed from the start.

The show was always too dark and it's clear they didn't watch the original series. Melrose on paper may seem dark, but it was an Aaron Spelling show! It was very light and camp and the violence was done in a Wonder Woman-esque non-violent way. All the original characters are old and bitter and have lost their personalities. Where is the humor that Sydney and Michael were known for? I feel like this upcoming revamp will fall flat as well. They simply don't understand the show and these new characters are too mediocre for me to care.

I still have faith in Slavkin & Swimmer - many writers move different genres, they just have to know the world thet get into (say unlike Tim Kring who didn't know a thing about the superhero universe).
