Members Avatar610
Considering she had several pregnancies during her early years as Nancy, I could never understand why the writers never let Nancy become pregnant! It made no sense in retrospect- Mike and Nancy giving Laurie Ann a sibling would have been a great storyline. Likewise with Vanessa and Bruce on Love of Life- they never had a biological child of their own.
Members amybrickwallace
Vanessa and Nancy were definitely a rare breed - the matriarchs of their shows who had no children of their own (though both had stepchildren). I can't think of any other female character from that era who fits that bill.

Members DRW50
I think this is Jayne Bentzen around 22 minutes. The "skincare specialist" also looks familiar. Members slick jones
That AYDS diet medicine sure had an unfortunate name, especially in the 80s!

Members Paul Raven
Dec 26 1962 Austin and Toby exchange the money they plan to give Ted to keep him off Austin's back for the time being. When Austin goes to Ted's office to deliver the money, Ted says that they must abide by the conditions they previously agreed upon. Austin then informs Ted that he would never even dream about jeopardizing his career for personal business or pleasure. Meanwhile, Bill calls Reynolds to tell him that Tony has been arrested. After hearing this, Reynolds then gets a call from Nancy in which she passes on the information about Austin and Ted's meeting. Dec 23 1963 Winston tells Phil his complicated plan which will likely keep the Warrens from leaving town. Emory and Lyn discuss their soon-to-be monetary situation and why they both have to be in superior physical and mental condition for their plan to work. Lyn is worried that Emory will leave her shortly after the baby is born, but Emory assures her that he isn't going anywhere. Dec 23 1965 Louise tells Mike what happened between her and Phil. Meanwhile, Martha becomes upset when she hears children singing Christmas carols because her fragile health complicates her having children of her own. She feels that Christmas is a phony holiday without children of one's own around, and Bill tries to cheer her up. Phoebe, who is still in the hospital, gets a surprise visit and a Christmas present from Martha. Realizing Martha is upset, Phoebe says that Martha will make a great mother some day. Phil receives a phone call which bothers Louise because she thinks it is from an old flame who is back in town. Nov 8 1968 Lee Pollock is upset about something that happened at school. His classmate Miss Brown tries unsuccessfully to reassure him. Lee is worried about his involvement in the Kurtz murder. Nancy and Mike Karr consult with police chief Phil Capice about Lee's possible involvement in the murder. When Nancy visits Lee's instructor at the art institute, she learns that Lee's work began to suffer right after the murder took place. Members applcin
That interview with Sharon Gabet above is really good! She really did love EON and the cast. Man, this show needs to be streamed(streamt??) somewhere! AOL & P & G were a bit ahead of the times a few years back when they did it online and it needs to come back!

Members allmc2008
Who were they and were they dead figuratively or were they actually killed off?
Members amybrickwallace
EON always seemed to have a fairly small cast, even for a half-hour show. Of course, with the murder element in there, a lot of people were going to be filtered in and out. How many core characters were there by the ABC era? 10-15?
Members DRW50
Steve, Deborah and Calvin. They weren't killed off.
Members amybrickwallace
Did this show have one of the best theme songs ever, or what? That saxophone over that moody, slightly creepy music? Perfect!!
Members sungrey
You should listen to the 1970s theme on CBS, Amy. That was a well-done theme also.
