Considering she had several pregnancies during her early years as Nancy, I could never understand why the writers never let Nancy become pregnant! It made no sense in retrospect- Mike and Nancy giving Laurie Ann a sibling would have been a great storyline. Likewise with Vanessa and Bruce on Love of Life- they never had a biological child of their own.

Vanessa and Nancy were definitely a rare breed - the matriarchs of their shows who had no children of their own (though both had stepchildren). I can't think of any other female character from that era who fits that bill.

I think this is Jayne Bentzen around 22 minutes. The "skincare specialist" also looks familiar.

That interview with Sharon Gabet above is really good! She really did love EON and the cast. Man, this show needs to be streamed(streamt??) somewhere!

AOL & P & G were a bit ahead of the times a few years back when they did it online and it needs to come back!

I've been watching Edge episodes with my mother sometimes and we're into summer 1980 (not long before "Kirk" is revealed to April and everyone else), and there really is a big change when Jody and Gavin come in. I think they did a good job of integrating Kelly into the canvas (even if he's dull/weird), but Jody and especially Gavin feel more grafted on. I can't help wondering how fans at the time felt about suddenly seeing a dance studio dropped in from the sky 2-3 days a week, with some extra who looks like Raven's frumpier sister.

I did love this at 11 minutes. "The Three Musketeers" were dead and buried by this point and Calvin barely interacted with anyone, so using him to help tie in the new characters was a nice touch:

Who were they and were they dead figuratively or were they actually killed off?

EON always seemed to have a fairly small cast, even for a half-hour show. Of course, with the murder element in there, a lot of people were going to be filtered in and out. How many core characters were there by the ABC era? 10-15?
