July 18, 200817 yr Member I'm hoping to see more camp! That's all I ask because that's what B&B was known for. Not with Kay. Sigh. I love her. I personally loved her time on Y&R. I thought her MIT talk was great and insightful and plain-spoken. But B&B is camp. I don't see that as Kay's forte. What will Brad's role be? I imagine he will remain as a STRONG EP, giving specific story direction insights, don't you think? I actually hope Brad is okay. He is a young man...living out his father's legacy. What could have motivated this? Maybe he was upset about B&B's recent all time low? If yes, he is not to blame...the whole genre fell precipitously that week. ETA: With both Bell shows headed by FiCores (Alden at B&B, MAB/Sheffer at Y&R), what will the CONSEQUENCES of this be? Edited July 18, 200817 yr by MarkH
July 18, 200817 yr Member Why won't Kay do camp? She was assitant writer for Y&R basiclaly from the start and it's had a lot of camp in its day--maybe not as much as AMC classically did, or the awful JER style of camp but... THis actually makes me wanna start watching MORE

July 18, 200817 yr Member WOOHOOOOOOOOO! Hopefully this means more Pam. It probably means more Katie if anything.
July 19, 200817 yr Member Terrific. Brad obviously thinks Kay has something B&B needs. Hopefully it works out well for the both of them as well as the show.
July 19, 200817 yr Member I hope it will pan out - if it doesn't I guess all blame will be on me. LOL! Well, if it doesn't, sheilaforever, I certainly wouldn't blame you. To me, Kay Alden (co-)HW'ing B&B makes sense...on paper. But if she is primarily responsible for the Logan infestation (they might've been there at the beginning, but it's been years since we've seen most of them, and most of them are with "new faces," so to speak, so putting them on the front-burner immediately is, IMO, not the best idea) then I worry whether Brad has made the right decision. That said, I do believe Brad needs to focus more on EP'ing the show, and less on HW'ing it. In a perfect world, too, this setup would allow Brad to focus on Y&R some, too. But who said the world was perfect, lol?
July 19, 200817 yr Member Why isn't anyone speculating that Brad will take over as EP of Y&R.....maybe that's why Kay Alden is the headwriter now.
July 19, 200817 yr Member Why isn't anyone speculating that Brad will take over as EP of Y&R.....maybe that's why Kay Alden is the headwriter now. If Bell were really smart, he'd let Ron Weaver go to Y&R and EP it with and have one of the old Y&R writers on B&B go back to Y&R as HW. Or he could just ask Jack Smith or David Shaughnessy to go back to Y&R and EP it. But Kay is only Co-HW for now, so...
July 19, 200817 yr Member I dont think this is good news. Her stint at Y&R was boring as hell. And B&B lately has been very boring to me.
