Expanding on this a bit...

You write a soap blog? Niiice. Fiiiine. But that does NOT make you an expert! That little "bloggers' trip" to Peapack? *eye roll* Only one of them had any business going, IMO.

I'd have to agree with both of you. I only go to a few soap boards and most of them seemed to feel the same. I'm glad I didn't run into any big defense of that story.

I'm starting to think Thorsten Kaye is the biggest drag on AMC in years as he gets further and further into the Pratt version of the character.

Some may already be popular opinions....

ATWT

- I've never liked Holden & Lily together. I see more obligation than passion there. I wish the writers would break them up for good.

- Have never really liked Carly & Jack together, either. I'm sick of the numerous break-up stories these two have.

- I actually liked Holden & Carly.

- They should have never aged Luke. I really liked the kid who played him during the stories surrounding Malta and Rose's death. That said...I don't mind Luke & Noah right now.

Days

- I don't like Philip with Stephanie...IMO, they should bring Belle back for him.

- John & Marlena are probably the most overrated couple on daytime.

- I don't find Nadia Bjorlin all that attractive (too much make-up) and her acting really hasn't improved much since she joined the show almost a decade ago.

GL

- Dinah & Shayne are better than Dinah & Mallet, but they're just okay as a couple.

- I'll take Reva & Jeffrey over Josh & Reva anyday.

Ashley Jones is MUCH better!

I think they were even worse.

Days current teen actors are worse, Will, Mia and then some friends to Mia, I can't stand any of them.

Kristian was awful in the 80s, she did get better in time but I could never stand her babyvoice back then.

I actually like Crystal Hunt and her Stacey Morasco character. I think all soaps need a good bad girl to stir the pot. I just hope they eventually move her away from Rex and Gigi, who I also like, by the way.

I think Kirsten Storms is a TERRIBLE ACTRESS....from her sqeauky voice, to her over-the-top performances....she is just down right terrible to me, or at the very least highly mediocre compared to the rest of the younger actresses out there (hell I think Melanie over at DOOL is even better.)

:lol::lol::lol:OMG! I LOVE IT!

I totally agree with you. Which leads me to my own... She and Adrienne Frantz are two of the most annoying OVERLY BLONDE daytime actresses in their peer group.

- Brenda Dickson was not a bad actress at all. Sure, she loved being campy. And sure, she's a nutcase. But if you look at her two different portrayals of Jill, I think you can see quite a layered performance.

- Jess Walton and Daniel Goddard have crazy sexual chemistry.

- Eileen Davidson was better off on B&B.

Turns out, you might be so right. B&B is much more of a show for her than Y&R. Pity Brad doesn't know how to write for the character.

The show does look great though!
    • Well, she just said "ladies" on the show but she didn't specify they were fellow actresses. It could have been some of the women behind the scenes of the show. There was a lot in the interview that wasn't clear to me.
    • Now would’ve been a great time to get the next A plot going, versus Bill and Katie and Steffy and Liam rehashing the same BS about Luna we have been hearing for weeks.
    • I feel it could benefit from a focus on one of their three A stories or a solid B plot. But right before the turnover from Guza to Thomson, outside of all things Dani...there's nothing too A story-ish going on. Still entertaining for me, but it's noticeable that there is not a main story with other B/C stories going on. It's just...a bunch of stories going on.    I do hope the build to Winterfest and us actually seeing it THIS month will get things moving again.    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
