Poor Marie. Hopefully they will do another live chat where Marie can participate glitch-free!!

It was definitely fun learning that Adrienne Barbeau of Maude fame was up for the part of Toni Ferra Powers. (I cannot see her with Peter Burnell at all.) I also didn't know that Jonathan Frakes and John Shearin were roomies - and that JF used the stories JS had told him about Vietnam for Tom Carroll's PTSD. It was eye-popping to hear that Billy's life was normal compared to David Elliott's real life.

I agree that the questions were all over the place and that Alan Locher should have done more research on the show, the actors he had on and their characters. MJ and Tom never had an abortion story - she was never even pregnant. I wish Frank and Jonathan had been asked about the fire at Andre's story, and how Jonathan felt about being killed off. I also wanted to hear more about the cast members no longer with us - JP, LB, DOB - especially because each actor in the chat had worked with all of them. GG got a shout out from Anna, and so did Sally Gracie. Meg Mundy was briefly mentioned. Anna was asked about Peter Burnell and she remembered him warmly.

Oh well, maybe if they have another live chat those questions can be addressed. It was a fun and enjoyable chat overall - and Frank looks and sounds exactly like he does in the reruns except for the hair. He is a silver fox!!!!

Tom being divorced was part of the character’s backstory. he lied to his wife telling her that Huntington’s disease ran in his family and convinced her to abort their baby so the child would not have the illness. It was a lie as he was not a carrier and only worried he would abuse their child if it lived and did not want to be a parent.

That was great!! I could listen to their stories all day. It was fun learning from Anna Stuart that aside from Adrienne Barbeau, the other runner-up for the role of Toni Ferra was Jennifer Darling. Jennifer Darling was married at that time to Paul Henry Itkin, who would join TD about a year later as Toni's ex-boyfriend (the lecherous Dr. Vito McCray). She went on to a recurring role on "Eight is Enough" and a prolific career doing voiceovers.

I was watching the SNL episode from 2012 that Maya Rudolph hosted. She was in a talk show sketch where the joke was basically that black voters would support Obama no matter what. Her character was named Althea Davis. It was probably just a coincidence, but knowing The Doctors was taped at 30 Rock, it still made me smile.

    • I thought today was still good. Leo is always awful, but the characters treating him like he's a plague feeds my soul. Rafe in particular had been very passive about him, but today was wonderful seeing him put Leo on notice. I really think it's being written that Javi is going to have to eventually take the blinders off and see Leo for who he really is. Them having sex on Gabi's desk made me want to explode. Roman taking in stray Doug was nice to see. And the mention of Frankie and Max was unexpected, but good to know they're at least being thought of. Tate being petty and a bit vindictive by going back to Sophia's as soon as he saw Doug with Holly was entertaining for me. I think I actually like Tate the most out of all of them because he's so damn messy.  Is Holly about to be kidnapped? Her first time?
    • That would have saved the Anita singing segment -- having her by herself, singing quietly and reflectively. Belting it out like she was in church did not work. The black screens fade at the end was a mistake. BTG insists on being different with these fades for the sake of being different, and it's not working.   I thought all of that was just fine. Worked for me.   I'm going to disagree with this. Martin hasn't had many scenes with his parents, but he's been around family A LOT -- and that's what matters. We also know Martin is someone with a hair trigger response. He can be very emotional when discussing an issue before getting to the logic and reason of it all.
    • My view of Evan is that he's smart but not as smart as he thinks he is, not a good guy but not an entirely bad guy - he's a lot of things, the show never quite knowing what to do with them. I never saw him as Iris' follower because Iris always seemed a bit in over her head from the start.
    • She was the Town Historian, who knew a bit too much about Brandon and the infamous cottage.  SF was still a pretty normal place at that time, with Nola and Reva being the most outrageous citizens....seems that Carrie Pipper would have stood out a bit more for people.

    • Yes, I need to dot hat. Also on my list talking to the person I got these files from since they clearly have a mess, in terms of dates being wrong. And, unfortunately finding one date wrong, automatically means more are wrong, too.
    • I'm hoping that it doesn't happen. If the show keeps putting out good performance and story it will be hard to shut it out. Daphnee, Trisha, Ambyr and Colby are earning nominations without question.
    • Speaking of correcting dates, since you mentioned it above, why don't you go back to your Saturday post and edit it and replace your wording of "DAYS Ruth Buzzi 11-2-83"  with "DAYS Ruth Buzzi 11-1-83" and add a note that the video has the wrong date of 11/2/83 on it, and that the video is actually 11/1/83.
