June 5, 200817 yr Member "Despite her age?" Isn't Claire Labine not *that* old? i thougth she was born mid 40s Which would mean she's well into her 60's, a time when most people retire...

June 5, 200817 yr Member I'm going to say Tom Casiello, though there are others. I say him because I feel we know him through his blogs. He is like us, a lover of the genre, so he knows us, the audience. He is also the (relatively) new blood so many of us have been asking for. I cross my fingers that his primetime project is a success. If not, let's all rally to give this guy a chance in daytime. No offense, but... um... why does he keep getting FIRED from shows?
June 5, 200817 yr Member No offense, but... um... why does he keep getting FIRED from shows? Which shows? All those crappy ones that can't stand up to their past glory? Just a thought.
June 5, 200817 yr Member Which would mean she's well into her 60's, a time when most people retire... eah but not soap writers... (and actually lookign at my aprents most people work till they're 70 or so nowadays...)
June 5, 200817 yr Member No offense, but... um... why does he keep getting FIRED from shows? because with atwt and days he was part of a team that pretty much all got fired. i think he left Y&R and OLTL, but idk.
June 5, 200817 yr Member also, i ahve no problem with new fresh blood in daytime and writers being let go and not working anymore - as long as they are bad writers who suck now. not the talented ones. why are Hogan, McTavish, B&E, etc... still in daytime?

Exactly. This game of musical chairs for burnt-out head writers has gone one long enough. Tom C didn't play golf with the right people, as far as I see it.
June 7, 200817 yr Member Has Mike Cohen been picked up by anyone?? He is one of the best when it comes to writing intense. And obviously Tom C but I'd really rather see this other deal work for him
June 7, 200817 yr Member because with atwt and days he was part of a team that pretty much all got fired. i think he left Y&R and OLTL, but idk. Tom was fired from OLTL and Y&R.
June 7, 200817 yr Member JER and McTavish. I know I'm alone on that one, but I'm usually glued to anything that they write.
June 7, 200817 yr Member Tom was fired from OLTL and Y&R. Yes. He left ATWT on his own, but was fired from OLTL, Y&R and Days. Although with the exception of Ron C. and Natalie Mindardi Slater, every other writer in daytime has about twelve firings on their resume. It's not like he's any different. There are a lot of other former daytime writers who should be back on this list before TC, but I think we all can agree that the number of shows you've been fired from is pretty irrelevant. June 7, 200817 yr Member Where are all the writers from the '80s? Retired? Are the '70s writers too old now?
