According to the latest Soap Opera Digest, Tamara will be leaving her role of Ava in the summer. No exact exit date has been announced, but she has said she has some other projects that she's not at liberty to discuss.

Sad, but whatever she chooses to do, will be good.

Speculation on how Ava will exit?

My guess is that based on the scene with Kayla today when Kayla said that Ava will come into a lot of money from Martino, my feeling is that with Joe sick....Ava will give a lot of money to the neo-natal ward at University Hospital. I think it'll happen that Ava will leave town quietly after escaping prison based on Martino's continued drugging of her. That's just my gut feeling.

What was the whole point of Ava then if she's leaving already? So we watched this whole Ava/Steve backstory and Ava kidnapping Hope storyline all for nothing?

Now she's redeemed and Dena doesn't know what to do with her?

To bring Tam on with huge fanfare and then she leaves?

Wonder if this has anything to do with Days' new deal. And........if she is the last high salary to go.

And, before this is posted, let me just get this out of the way.....

Well, I don't see a problem with it. I mean heck, she served her purpose, and Days does need to cut the budget in order to stay on the air. Plus, even though it was fantastic, the story with Steve and Kayla ran its course. So, I don't see what the big deal is, blah, blah, blah..........

A "Guza was fired" or "Grant Aleksander is coming back" or "Brian Frons was arrested tonight for being the Zodiac Killer!" would do wonders for me right about now.

Not surprising.

The only things I can think of is.....

1. the new budget isn't worth a damn.

2. DH doesn't know what she's doing, and after 5 months is already hitting a wall.

Either those two or Ken Corday strikes again.

I always felt that Tamara's return was temporary to keep her floating during the writers strike, so I can't say I am suprised and I doubt there were hurt feelings for this. Tamara is a strong indie actress she'll be fine and I am sure any soap would scoop her up in a heartbeat. She is not lacking for work nor begging for scraps.

and wasnt MM/BB let go because DH didnt write for shelle (thank god!)? so what they have to do is also beyond me.

I am sad tho, because TB is awesome and i like Ava and a lot more can be done with her char.

Hopefully Shawn Christian is short term too and is gone by the fall.

It was said from the beginning that her role was most likely only short term.
