Y&R has been amazing lately... I hope it goes up... On the other hand, I'd like AMC to sink as low as possible... maybe then Frons will awake from his sleep and do something about the sinking ship that AMC has become.

Frons is still waiting for us to be TRAINED!!! Personally, like the postcard that a friend of mine made says, If Frons wants to train something, he should get a puppy because THIS SOAP FAN isn't available!!!

(BTW, if anyone wants a copy of it, please feel free to ask! :D It's got the logo's of all the ABCD soaps on it!)

regardless what the ratings show this week. theirs hope. has anyone read the GH 45th anniversary celebration article? Brian Frons states that GH will be going global next year. so chances are GH will increase in the millions. which means more money to afford on-location scenes. better sets for the mob. and all around. great adventure S/L's. best news so far IMO. here's the article. I'll post everything it says highlighted in blue. and the part about going global in red. with the Link at the bottom of the page.

Has it really been 45 years since General Hospital started broadcasting? Four decades + five years of medical machinations, legendary love stories, action and intrigue. Yes, yes, it's true, on April 1, ABC's General Hospital will celebrate 45 years on the air. Current executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps, will cut the cake and members of the cast will blow out the candles, but we're the ones that probably should be smiling. Memories of the great years gone by are inevitable with any show that's run as long as GH. But there's something special about this ABC soap.

It starts with Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis), the romance that set the bar high for all daytime couples. Their 1981 wedding was the highest-rated episode in the history of American daytime TV. Over 30 million people were watching then, and nearly as many watched when Elizabeth Taylor joined the cast -- for a while -- as Luke and Laura's nemesis, Helena Cassadine. "We were all kind of scared to work with her, but she came on and she was so excited to be with us," recalled Sandy Masone, a sound engineer who's worked on the show for over 30 years. "She was so gracious. She even invited us back to her house for a party."

The story of Luke and Laura was unique because it was as much about action adventure as it was about hearts and flowers. More than any other daytime soap, General Hospital is action-packed. The storylines are dominated by mob wars and Maurice Benard's Sonny Corinthos is daytime's answer to Michael Corleone. There still some medical-based plotlines, but not as many and you'd think for a show called General Hospital.

In all, the 45th anniversary is very cool. As Ms. Phelps said, "You don't get to 45 years just because you're lucky." In addition to luck, they've had some notable actors pass through the halls in years gone by, like box-office star Demi Moore (who showed off her smoky voice as Jackie Templeton), primetime hearthrobs Jack Wagner (Melrose Place), John Stamos (Full House) and Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver), and singing stars Ricky Martin ("Living La Vida Loca") and Rick Springfield ("Jessie's Girl").

Looking ahead, GH will be going global. "Later this year, General Hospital will premiere in France. For us, it's not just about viewers on the broadcast network, it's about viewers around the world," said Brian Frons, ABC daytime prez.

no just the mob haters that don't appreciate something good when it's sitting right in front of their faces. who wants to watch boring romance crapfest? when you can have action. adventure. intrigue. things exciting. not two people that i could care about have sex. i do have a life. and my life doesn't depend on who's hooking up with who. no offence to you. but the majority that hate GH on this bored are...well lets face it. Biase b/c the show focuses on the mob. and not your typical cheesy and lame romance S/L.

like i said. i don't watch for lame romances. and cheesy love making. if i wanted to watch porn i would. i don't sit here thinking of ways to bash other soaps on a day to day basics. it gets old. tiring. and sometimes annoying to read the same peoples opinions on the subject each and every single day. i get it. you hate the mob. you hate that it runs GH. i get it. single minded people ignore the other aspects of GH.

Intrigue???

Mob family comes to town.

Jason: Let's kill them.

Sonny: The timing isn't right. (but never a rationale for why it isn't right)

six months later:

Sonny: Kill them!!!!!.

Jason: No, the timing isn't right.

The following year a new mob family comes to town

Jason: Let's kill them

Sonny: The timing isn't right...

:D
