I'm impressed with Fernandez...I keep expecting that she'll wane and lose.  I still can't get the thought out of my head that this is just a flash in the pan.  At some point you have to think it's real.  You can't take out players at this level repeatedly and go on to be a nobody.  They're not having bad matches or playing badly.  They've been playing like they play and she's just beating them.

The guts of some of her shots at the right times have been unreal, the thing you can't teach.  She's my hope for the winner on the women's side.  I just really really don't want Bencic.  But I don't think Raducanu is going to beat her.  I feel like I'm on eggshells because it looks like a US Open win for  Bencic right now.

I went to wash the dishes for 5 mins, came back and the match is done? What? Okay. I’ll take it. FAA and LAF makes it to their first GS semis!!  What a great day for Canadians.

I was sitting right there at my computer and turned my head.  Turned it back and it was over.  I was like WTF?!

FAA has a lot of weapons and that serve is at the top of the list.  Med will move him so I hope he's ready.  I really want FAA in the final with [hopefully] Djoker.

I heard Delpo's voice last night and my heart fluttered.  LOL.  Kind of a favorite of mine over the years, I'm near DC and saw him in the DC tournament two of the years he won.  He's kind of a throwback player and I would love to see him come back successfully and at least be in the mix in some major tournaments.  He sounded really positive.  He would make a nice husband for me.

The young lady from Britain did it!

The British press are going to be horrible to her. I haven’t been following their coverage. But they’re @ssholes.

People thought this USO wasn’t gonna be sh!t without Federer, Nadal, and Serena, and it’s been a blast.

Of course, Sascha wants the big screen fixed right before Lloyd Harris served on his set point in the tiebreak. That sort of disruption shouldn’t be allowed, but that’s another instance of tennis encouraging gamesmanship.

Totally screwed Harris. Now Harris is playing like garbage.

This whole Open has been a total surprise (I thought for me, but it looks like everyone now)...I think we're going to look back at this Open as when the new guard popped up and at the beginning we didn't see it...and now we are.  It really has been a total blast and surprise that came from no where.  I thought every Slam this year was total blah.  The Olympics were blah.  This has not been blah.

A finals with her and Leylah would be amazing.

And this would be awesome but kill me because I want them both to win now.  Either would be great but I'd somehow want both.

The men’s side has lost a lot of steam aside from FAA’s great run and Novak’s hunt for the CYGS, but we got some popcorn matches and surprises there too (not to be all Rothenbergy, but it’s much harder for lower-ranked challengers to maintain fitness enough to make a deep run in a Bof5 tournament, especially in today’s extremely physical sport. They’re just not conditioned enough or used to it.) We really lucked out in the past with the Big 4 and players like Delpo and Stan.

    • Season three is as impressive as I remember. For a teen show, this has such impressive writing and I see why it's so difficult to recreate the type of magic they had here. I miss the longer scenes shows used to have. There is so much character development we've lost in an effort to speed through things. This Brenda/Dylan/Kelly triangle today would likely just be another triangle, but the fact that it takes Brenda 13 episodes to find out made it so much more impactful. I also love that they had the complication of Brends flirting with Rick in Paris and the lack of sex between Dylan and Kelly. They spent the season really building the Brenda/Dylan and Brenda/Kelly dynamics so by the time it hit, it exploded. Another relationship I love that I feel is overlooked is David and Kelly. Making them siblings was a clever way of maturing David and integrating him into the group in a real way as his relationship with Donna developed. The weakest part of the season for me continues to be Brandon, Andrea and Steve. The ironic thing is that Andrea has good chemistry with both guys that is completely ignored. Brandon/Andrea was teased at the start of the season, but they instead put him with a string of forgettable romances while she mostly sat on the backburner or in Blaze related plots. Steve is just kinda there.
    • I loved what they did with Emma in the final season. I know it's unpopular, but I thought the final season was great. It was very dark and almost felt like a reboot. It was a big improvement on the previous couple seasons.
    • Well, at least the Duke gif seems to be gaining traction on social media, so it's doing something for the show I guess.
    • From a 2008-2010 Corday contract for a new character on the show (I will not divulge who it is, but, yes, I have a copy of their contract). This talent was paid a minimum of $105,300 to appear on Days.  Subtract 10% of this person's agent... Subtract 15% for this person's manager... Subtract 25% for taxes... This person on a network TV show could have netted $52,650 in their first year on Days BEOFRE factoring in their living expenses.  Corday vets may have been well paid, but unless a newbie was a fan favorite and on 3-4 times a week, they weren't really making a ton of money (in TV or soap terms). Compensation per episode:             (a)       First contract year:               $1,350.00               (b)       Second contract year:         $1,450.00               (c)       Third contract year:              $1,550.00               (d)       Fourth contact year:             $1,700.00   8.         (Redacted)   9.         Number of average guaranteed episodes per week:                          (a)       First contract year:               1.50 per week               (b)       Second contract year:         1.50 per week               (c)       Third contract year:              1.50 per week               (d)       Fourth contract year:            2.00 per week
    • I posted this in another thread. In case you're missing Debbi and Darnell, they will reunite on an episode of Debbi's FOX show, "Our Kind of People."   https://tvline.com/2022/01/17/our-kind-of-people-preview-all-my-children-reunion-debbi-morgan-darnell-williams/
