Well she did say she was going to shove that ball down her [!@#$%^&*] throat.  It kind of did happen.  It’s out there.

Then there kind of was the drunk doubles match with Venus where she stumbled around a lot and couldn’t stand up.  Explained away by some unknown disease.  She was drunk from the night before because she played within a few days later.  Serena has always been a mess.

I'm not, never been, nor will I ever be one of those folks who will dismiss or excuse what happened at the U.S. Open.  I am also not someone who will claim that a person is incapable of ever evolving.

But to suggest that Serena has "gotten away" with saying or doing anything untoward would simply be untrue.  Who else got a $90,000 fine in the history of tennis?  Not even McEnroe who has a history of hurling epithets at chair umpires, the crowd and once physically turned over a T.V. camera.

What I am saying is that the amount of ink spilled over this conference room scheduling debacle was unnecessary, especially when the stories essentially contradicted each other.  Even Thiem himself said he was unsure.

Did you see the video of Federer launching that ball and the near miss to that spectator? Journalists who couldn't stop carping over the conference room debacle are already making jokes about some guy who nearly averted a serious injury.

All I'm asking is, why are some players called out, while others never are?

It's not just Serena, by the way.  Heather Watson got the largest fine at Wimbledon for taking a small swipe at some blades of grass with her racquet, in frustration.  Her fine was significantly larger than Karolina Pliskova who destroyed a chair umpire's chair with the umpire still in it!

Not to mention the players who have physically shoved an umpire on court.

Verbal abuse should be punished but why do players who put their hands on officials or physically destroy property not similarly punished?  Surely I'm not the only one who notices the disparity?

I'm not even going to go down the rabbit hole of the Nolé rain delay debacle because honestly, the story changes every five minutes at this point. Nobody seems to be able to get their stories straight.

    • Yes and I also loved how she focused on Chelsea and Naomi when she spilled Bill's involvement in all of this.
    • Danny: Don't drink it. Just hold it. Rocco drinks three laced cups.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
