February 2, 200719 yr Member I agree, she definitely wouldn't be that childish about the whole situation. She's been doing a lot in movies over the past year, I think a lot has to do with her wanting the time to try out new things. How would that be childish? Her peers and/or producers didn't enter her name, maybe she found that offensive, maybe it's a toxic environment for her.
February 2, 200719 yr Member If I recall, when Victoria Rowell left before, the show had a solid African-American cast left over (Tonya Lee Williams, Shemar Moore, the various Nathans, Veronica Redd). I mean, there's still Kristoff St. John...and there's Lily and Devon, but they are written so BADLY you hardly care about them. VR is one of the few actresses on daytime who can make crap watchable, just because she brings so much to the screen that isn't in the script. I'd compare her to Michael E. Knight and Tony Geary.
February 2, 200719 yr Member If things get further out of control, I can definitely see Barbara Bloom and Bill Bell jr. wanting LML out of there. Y&R has always had the reputation of listening to overwhelming fan reaction. Edited February 2, 200719 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
February 2, 200719 yr Member Hmmm... I wonder if LML days are numbered on Y&R? Why would they fire her? The ratings haven't gone down. Why would she be fired? Unless, Y&R ratings start going down significantly, LLM ain't going anywhere.

All these firings/departures cannot look good. Especially mixed in with all these negative fan reaction. It's only a matter of time. Edited February 2, 200719 yr by DruRocks

It would be totally selfish. What about Sharon Case? Jess Walton? We don't see them asking to be released from their contracts. It would be incredibly immature and unprofessional for Rowell to quit because she didn't get an Emmy pre-nom. Is she that egotistical?
February 2, 200719 yr Member HOLY [!@#$%^&*] HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm with you, well theres no need for me ever to watch y&r again.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. People say that all the time. Oh this show's ratings will go down because of that. Or that show's ratings go down because of this. The mass majority of the time it doesn't happen and ratings go up or they stay the same.

Jess Walton has been underutilizied for years.

Feeling insulted by the people you work with and the people you work for isn't selfish, it's human. How is it unprofessional and immature to quit over a slight? It's better than staying and being miserable. Just to be clear, this is all speculation on my part, I can't wait for Vicky to interview with one of the mags.
