How would that be childish? Her peers and/or producers didn't enter her name, maybe she found that offensive, maybe it's a toxic environment for her.

If I recall, when Victoria Rowell left before, the show had a solid African-American cast left over (Tonya Lee Williams, Shemar Moore, the various Nathans, Veronica Redd). I mean, there's still Kristoff St. John...and there's Lily and Devon, but they are written so BADLY you hardly care about them.

VR is one of the few actresses on daytime who can make crap watchable, just because she brings so much to the screen that isn't in the script. I'd compare her to Michael E. Knight and Tony Geary.

Why would they fire her? The ratings haven't gone down. Why would she be fired? Unless, Y&R ratings start going down significantly, LLM ain't going anywhere.

It would be totally selfish. What about Sharon Case? Jess Walton? We don't see them asking to be released from their contracts. It would be incredibly immature and unprofessional for Rowell to quit because she didn't get an Emmy pre-nom. Is she that egotistical?

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. People say that all the time. Oh this show's ratings will go down because of that. Or that show's ratings go down because of this. The mass majority of the time it doesn't happen and ratings go up or they stay the same.

Feeling insulted by the people you work with and the people you work for isn't selfish, it's human. How is it unprofessional and immature to quit over a slight? It's better than staying and being miserable.

Just to be clear, this is all speculation on my part, I can't wait for Vicky to interview with one of the mags.

    • Anyway...they literally mentioned the secret room today on Days and yes, this show needs a Kristen lesbian story lol.
    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
    • Was that when she put on the"Slut of Springfield" red dress and made a complete ass of herself at the CC, so of course Alan fell madly in love with her on the spot?
    • Oohh...now I'm not sure. Long did come back in '87, didn't she. She broke up Ross and Vanessa almost from her first minute back. Van and Ross are at the Country Club when Josh dumps Reva. And Reva dramatically drapes herself on the CC stairs.
    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
