August 22, 200718 yr Author Administrator Source The source is z9z9? The info has to be false considering who it's from.
August 22, 200718 yr Member Oh, well. That's weird, but whatever. The nonsense of it all makes sense if z9z9 is connected to it.

August 22, 200718 yr Member Amanda L. beall is the scrpit writer on AMC today. Kye, do you love or hate Beall? I can't tell.
August 22, 200718 yr Member I only go by what airs on screen. And I think it's the right way. I think there's some WGA regulaton that states you must write a writer's name in the credits. Or something like that. And why (and how) would someone jump from writers' assistant to BDW in a blink?
August 22, 200718 yr Member Amanda L. beall is the scrpit writer on AMC today. Did I call that shit yesterday, or what?! Maybe so... but she didn't write a single breakdown last week, either. Usually, she makes it her business to piss all over an episode in some form or fashion -- and I'm amazed she didn't write today's episode, what with her pet Babe getting prime airtime, and all. But, with all of this Beelzebub talk, the hack will turn up tomorrow -- it seemed like a bitchy day in the previews. Edited August 22, 200718 yr by R Sinclair
August 22, 200718 yr Member Yesterday and today were [!@#$%^&*]? Kate = Amanda in terms of quality? :lost:
August 22, 200718 yr Member Yesterday and today were [!@#$%^&*]? Kate = Amanda in terms of quality? :lost: No. Two separate issues. Loved Kate Hall's writing yesterday, and loved last week with AMC's more dramatic writers, Joanna Cohen (writing 3 scripts) and Kate Hall (writing her debut script) writing the dialog. Someone mentioned Beall possibly leaving the building, and I said something along the lines of Amanda Beall just taking time off to learn how to write drama instead of sitcom (her annoying overuse of one liners undercutting every single scene) because she hadn't written a breakdown OR script at all last week. I was just taking a shot at Beall. Then as I typed that sentence last night, I had a premonition that today would be a Beall day because I recall seeing a lot of bitchiness in the previews (which Beelzebub is notorious for). Sure enough, I called it. Right on the money, I called it!

August 22, 200718 yr Member He-he, of course you did. Does Kate Hall have anything to do with Karen Hall? Little stretched, but... I not not think so. Well Kate writing is so much better the Beall's! Beall's a lot different from Kate Yesterday's show with Kate as SW was a great episode. The Tad/Joe/Jamie scenes were great! But today is so much different
August 23, 200718 yr Member OK, I'm confused about how GL listed their writers from the 90-94 era, when Curlee/Demorest/Reilly/Broderick were a head-writing team. I stumbled upon a clip from 92, Curlee wasn't credited for this particular episode, but Broderick, Reilly, and Demorest were the first three credited. There's a scene proceeding the credit, with great dialogue btw! That's one thing I've always admired about Broderick in particular, she always infuses great dialogue into her writing. I think it's because Nancy was on leave or something. I'm not quite sure though since I wasn't watching soaps back then.
August 23, 200718 yr Member From what I've heard from time to time is that Nancy Curlee was on maternity leave (having a child would be behind one of the reasons she left). If I'm correct the blackout also happened in 92 and was one of those ideas brought up by JER.

GL will never again have the writing staff they had from 90-94. I mean having people like Wisner Washman, Trent Jones, Patrick Mulchaey, Michael Conforti, ect all supporting Curlee/Demorest/Reilly/Broderick was nothing but luck and a stroke of genius. Damn, GL was so lucky back then. Even storylines that seemed out of the ordinary could be spun into gold, with a writing staff like that. I'd even go as far as to say GL was better written than it's sister-soap, ATWT, during this time, even if Marland is a soap writing god. Edited August 23, 200718 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
