December 11, 200619 yr Author Member Mary Beth, who has yet to impress me with a thing. To each his own and that, but holy crap dude, you are one tough sell with her! Seriously, I though her performance today was Emmy caliber.
December 11, 200619 yr Member I hear ya, Keith. I thought the dialogue was getting repetitive, which was why I was glad they kept the scenes short. But I don't think it's fair to blame MBE (and I'm not just saying this because I like her) -- I subscribe to the old school of "if it ain't on the page, it ain't on the stage..." There was just nothing more for MBE to do with it.
December 11, 200619 yr Member I'm all for the huge pact emotion, I just think there was no variation in today's scenes. They could have still had that impact without dragging it so much in the beginning. I liked what I saw, but I could have cared to see it played differently. I also disagree they've had too much less is more unless you're talkign airtime, because, in the past, when they've been on, there's been too much of one thing and zero movement. I definitely prefer days like this. My thing is we had the impact of Steve's memories and we've had all of Steve pullign away. Kayla's just started to do that. I think giving him more of his own medicine would have been great. The eventually breakdown would have been important either way, but she didn't have to show face so easily. Of course, as others have said, she could see it was Steve, finally, so she probably couldn't fight it. Ah well. As GBB says, to each their own.
December 11, 200619 yr Member GG - I can't agree there. Both as an actor and as someone who has seen it. Nichols has been rising above his material for MONTHS. I want to see greatness in Mary Beth. I just...don't. And I look real hard, I promise, lol.
December 11, 200619 yr Member Loved, loved, loved this episode. Only one complaint--I felt the scenes with Abby, Nick and Chelsea didn't really fit. Everything else was so emotional and heartfelt that those scenes kind of felt like an interruption to the flow of the episode.
December 11, 200619 yr Member I forgot Abby/Nick/Chelsea I do love Nick and Abby as cousins though Great chemistry there

Her airtime has been dismal to boot. Despite that I have rooted for Kayla *so* much. MBE is a subtle actress who always manages to make me *cry* along with her characters, and laugh when they laugh.
December 11, 200619 yr Member John and Marlena were so sexy! Him with no shirt on, her still wearing her jacket..... They were HOT!
December 11, 200619 yr Member The J/M scenes for tomorrow sound hot and cute, again! Well, if I'm reading it right... Something about a police officer coming to the door, telling Marlena that people thought a fight was going on inside... and Marlena mentions something that it was just "rough?" Then she hops into bed with John, who's still naked under the covers, and tells the officer to go ahead and investigate the premises, LoL.
December 11, 200619 yr Member I too am stunned. Finally DAYS has gotten its groove back and Hogan is writing good stuff. The show has its own feel back and there are actually storyline movements. John and Marlena were great in the grave and then their romantic scene later topped it off perfectly. Steve and Kayla were brilliant. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these supercouple centric shows. DAYS hasn't done them like this in the past what 3 or 5 years but to have all three of them on is great. Bo and Claire and Hope was so sweet. And Willow/Shelle were also good. One of the best episodes ever of Hogan's run.
December 11, 200619 yr Member Of course, the day belonged to S&K and B&H. Two of our beloved supercouples making huge strides to be what we know they can be. First MBE and SN made a fantastic show for S&K fans. I teared and cheered and just loved them...especially as I was telling Steve to sign to her and he did finally, just perfect. (Oh, I have a great time watching Days LOL.) Hope holding back the truth of going off with "Lockhart" ruined their otherwise great day together. Wonder why she made the huge reference to the baby being so active, today? Bo called her a girl, but I don't remember the show actually showing that they learned she is a girl. John and Marlena were fun and glamorous as usual...also campy as usual. Nick, Chelsea and Abby were off today. Chelsea was awful and that's saying something coming from me. I haven't enjoyed this storyline so far. My heart went out to Willow. At least the writer's are making Shawn show a soft side for her and making the break seem gentler, but it won't be. Sorry, Shelle, fans, they do nothing whatsoever for me. They are just two actors reading lines. In fact, Martha just cannot turn on, she reverts to whiny. It's just too soon. They need more time to work together in my judgement.
December 11, 200619 yr Member They didn't, but Hope's mentioned it being a girl before The J/M scenes for tomorrow sound hot and cute, again! Well, if I'm reading it right... Yeah, Rico (DiMera goon) comes to their room to kill them, but he stabs pillows instead and John overpowers him. Some lady called the security after hearing noise and Marlena speaks Italian (yay!) to get the cops to go away, explaning that it was just "rough amore" and acts cutesy, jumping into bed with her "darling" until they go away.
December 11, 200619 yr Member What.An. Episode. Simply fantastic. Really, overall it's one Sheffer can submit as the "mix" episode Emmy wise if he throws in a just-action one with it. It had romantic, sweet moments for four big couples. The three supercouples, and another popular one.
